Yep, the Scorchers bowling lineup has been depleted but somehow, suddenly JL pulls a rabbit or two out of the hat.
I wouldn't be writing the Scorchers off yet.

premiership hangover wrote: It will be interesting to see how the scorchers go now. Yes they will get S Marsh and Bancroft back when the one sayers start, but losing NCN and Berendorf for the summer to injuries, and then losing Tye and Richardson for national duties will stretch them, especially as they lose Willey to the Pommie side.....
Will be a high effort just to make the finals let alone try to win it.
Lynn made the one day side

I noticed that NCN played grade cricket on the weekend. He bowled 4 overs and took 3 for 14. Assuming he pulled up OK from that, he may be the rabbit that JL pulls out of the hat when Tye and Richardson are on Aussie duties and Willey is playing for England. Joel Paris is also on the comeback trail so he may come into the reckoning as well. Ashton Agar is not in the eleven for the test nor in the one day squad so you would think that he would be released to play in Brisbane on Friday night.
Oops sorry disregard the first bit of that post, just read the article about NCN and Berendorff being out for the rest of the campaign. So Joel Paris would still be an option but he is currently coming back from a long lay off. Cameron Green is the only other fast/medium pace bowler in the squad. Not sure but he may be injured as well so they are getting short on options.Lucky they have put some early wins on the board.

Does the BBL seem weaker this year?...the Sixers, Stars and Hobart look pretty weak....Perth are winning with their 2nd side....not trying to run down the Scorchers efforts, just seems to me the BBL sides on paper look pretty average....

Great knock again by D'Arcy Short....matches Lynn for pure clean striking of the ball....surely a monty for T20 international honours....Warner, Short and Lynn as Aust top 3 would be exciting to watch....TBH would rather see Short in the ODI series instead of Finch....

Been to a few NZ T20 games mate.....quality not as good TBH....reckon they would only compete if they had a North Island side and a South Island side.

Great to see Paris back....was always gonna happen but really felt the Heat had huge luck early on with a few of those Big Bash brothers French cuts.....couple of easy catches dropped and some wayward bowling to Cutting and Burns.....the Heat were at full strength and will miss Lynn too, the Scorchers will be better with Johnson back also Shaun Marsh too....but then Richardson, Willey and Tye are all gone....

Didn't realise Billy Stanlake was a quick as he is.....regular late 140 clicks....at his height surely future higher honours beckon.... can't believe he can't get a gig for Qld.....

Stanlake (like most of the WA pace bowlers) has had injury issues Freeze...he is still only young hopefully his body issues are managed much like Cummins were after his sensational debut in South Africa as an 18yo.

I had a look at the Melbourne Derby tonight which the Renegades won in a canter. The Stars look good on paper but on the field they seem like a complete rabble. Too many egos in the one team.

What a chase by the Scorchers last night. Ashton Turner was breathtaking in his power, very lucky though that he was dropped at 16 by Brad Hogg who appeared more focussed on the crowd than the game. Excellent contribution from Willey as well and finished off by Agar. A crucial win prior to losing the ODI players. Shaun Marsh and Bancroft will be back though.
