This was an act of sheer bastardary and revenge by Abbott and his right wing media cheer squad. Nothing to do with differences in policy. Morrison put together the Corporate tax package and Frydenburg was the Energy minister who developed the NEG and their careers have not suffered as a result of their involvement. The irony was that prior to this week the coalition had dragged back the polls to 49 - 51, not a hopeless position and Turnbull still had a double digit lead as preferred Prime Minister over Shorten .
