what marks Morrison out in the liberlas, people, is that he is conservative but stayed loyal to Turnbull, which is why the 'left' supported him.

He votted 'np' in the gay referendum

He difers Aboott because he supports 'a big Australia'

There, fixed it for you AR.

Of course, Gorton and Fraser were real Liberals (the kind I used to vote for) - not the hard-right conservative ideologues currently being led around by the nose by Abbott (the kind I would never vote for).

It is fatuous to claim that the Liberal Party has moved to the left. It is patent nonsense to think that the Liberals are not very much right of what the Liberal Party used to be.

Ray Hadley is apoplectic over MT out-manoeuvred Desperate Dutton and Abbott. MT wanted to remain as PM.. JB next choice and then Scott Morrison.

jack: yes, my grand dad always spoke well of Gorton, although he still would have votted ALP at the time. The man left the political stage with a touch of style too, votting against himself because the party was split. From what I have read, he would have won the vote ordinarily, but, a couple, whom would have supported him in the party room were away sick.

What the Liberals knifed a sitting PM prior to Kevin Rudd becoming PM. Surely that can't be the case?

Swan 42: I with you. I don't know why people have this idea that PMs have traditionally served their full terms, it is a load of bull dust, as you konw.

Most have either resignned, died, or, been kniffed. People should stop trying to Amercanise Australia.

Menzies, Fraser Howard and Chifley have been the main exceptions

The base hypocrites that the Liberals are. They talk about mandates BUT ONLY when they win. Let's not forget in 2007 both Labor and Liberals went to that election proposing an ETS.

Menzies retired, Fraser, Howard and Chifley all got humiliated by the electorate. In particular Howard, couldn't even hold his own seat let alone Government. So that actually makes Howard proof of someone who should have been knifed, instead of blindly going on in spite of Costello.

That's because the gutless Costello did not have the TICKER to challenge.
