yep...agree LH. I don't think the Colts competition is the issue...it's further upstream than that. In my own experience junior teams are folding at a rate of knots. My son played for Melville Junior Footy Club year 12 team only 2 years ago and I'm now led to believe they can't field a team...so where's all the kids that should have come through from the lower grades? as Bazza said...gone to soccer or given it away completely. the AFL/WAFC should be focusing on participation rates at junior clubs and not worrying about fixing a Colts comp that ain't broke.
Happening everywhere mate. My son who plays for Attadale juniors and on the weekend we had the jumper presentation. We were told that they can't get the numbers for under 15's, so they needed to fold that group. the few players from the previous year have to go and find another junior club. I notice every year, they are struggling to field sides in the older age group.

yes ruddiger...I live near Troy Park and was walking past there a couple of nights ago and saw a group of boys about 12 years of age training...there was only about a dozen I guess but certainly not enough to make up a side.

The SDFC board had their meeting last night. I am sure one of the agenda items would have been the review. If I hear anything that I am able to share I will post an update.

They will vent opposition.

and then the WAFC will tell them the way it is, chuck them some quids.

They will then duly roll over and comply.

That is why the WAFL clubs need to be all singing from the same hyme book otherwise the WAFC will pull them apart as they have previously. Getting an independant chair of the COP (Remove Gloede) Having an agreed position by all clubs on some bottom lines and the consequences of those bottom lines not being addressed.
The licence of the two AFL teams neeeds to be put fairly and sqarely on the table. for negotiation.Retaining control of the colts comp is a non negotiable.

WA footy just lost a significant revenue stream and people are calling for it to sell 2 more revenue streams?

Fairly contradictory to bang on about the future of football then want to flog of the very income streams that are providing the free handouts to the mostly insolvent WAFL clubs.

If you were unable to retire and and you owned 2 very successful business's generating large profits each year, would you sell them?

Tugboat or should I say WAFC employee

The AFL licences of the two clubs are what the AFL are seeking, dont be fooled by the smokescreen of the BGC review.

Colts comp gets taken over by the AFL mate, WAFL are f**KED...

Yes I would.

The WCE are the richest club in the nation They have $50 Million plus in the bank...every wondered why??don't you think that is a bit odd given the WAFC charter as being a not for profit org that returns money to grass roots. Clearly its a scam and the money is not coming back like it should be.

I'd rather have the value of the asset back if it not returning what it should be.
