Nice to see WAFL showcased on the back page of the West today. Apparently clubs have been asked their views of a Night WAFL Grand final this year. What do people think? May be worth a try as the game is scheduled for a long weekend apparently.

East Perth WILL vote Yes of course,But is this what's good for The WAFL or you know who?

In that case, tell 'Em to get Stuffed!

Obviously you didn't read what Dean Turner said.Obviously some issues to work thru.Typical negative grassy blah blah blah.So you don't want a Saturday night grand final yet how many wafl supporters don't like going to sunday games but when we come to finals we play sundays.

Nope!

Yes there is.At least they are trying something different.Thursday night games in march or april I don't mind. They need to highlight the game to people who don't watch wafl normally which is the majority. If they do nothing you complain and when they try something different you complain. If you do the same old each year and crowds are declining then you need to do something different.

Typical negative crap, 50,000 folk watched Wafl on TV last week, that smashes anything the Abc could produce in their final years.

Have some vision, if we keep the ratings high , next time the deal comes around for renewal and ch 7 want it the clubs can squeeze more out of them for the rights.

Sad to say but the Wafl is basically stuffed, sadly.
I suppose officialdom in their 'wisdom' have to be seen to be trying something.

Don't mean to sound like the wet sock peop's, but this decision was made long, long ago. And to use the excuse of a huge success in the recent night game where only 1400 persons attended is a bit steep. Having said that, perhaps the twilight Grand Final may draw the crowd in to the ground? The weather pattern is warmer in September than in July. Maybe worth a try. The attendance will be interesting given the fact 2 Wafl clubs will be participating instead of one.

Bazza exactly what does channel 7 give to the WAFL clubs in the current deal?

Swan its not that hard to work out surely

Obviously the first deal was not a great deal for the clubs, it never was going to be until the figures could stand up, its about the next deal and if the ratings are good and they have been then thats a bargainihg chip for us to work on, if they want the product and the sponsors want the coverage then they are going to pay more for the product.

TV stations want more live sport, it gets viewers in , its one thing free to air can challenge other mediums with , most TV is now crap and they struggle to compete with the Internet, which is good for us.
