The current Wafl telecaster only has the 3 year telecast deal which expires at the end of the 2017 season, as far as I'm aware. Hopefully another network steps in after that and starts showing a decent Wafl telecast.

WAG that is less likely than me becoming a Liberal Party supporter, Eagles supporter and D Trump supporter or the WAFC actually making decisions that help and improve the viability and integrity of the WAFL competition.

Absolutley mate, if Ch 7 really want it they should compete with other bidders, and lets hope other networks go hard, we will see how serious the likes of 9 are next year when the rights are up for new contract, lets hope ratings stay high and bidders come in.

The Wafl paid the abc for shit ratings and the poor old tax payer picked up the rest, now the tax payer pays nothing, those dollars better spent on health and education.

Fact is instead of the choiceless tax payer subsidising a service few watched most of whom wouldnt even know wtf wafl was , instead now money is sucked out of the eagles and dockers and macdonalds to get it on air with a shit load more enjoying it, so its all good!

Also, a twilight or night Grand Final may be good for the city people, as they don't have any great travelling distance. But will it attract country people to attend the match, given the much later conclusion time? What happens if the travelling time is 3,4,5 or more hours away and the match finishes at say 2100 or 22 hours of the clock?
