Yes, his WAFL achievements should of been stated by the MC, but it was great for Dean to outline them.

It was Maurice and his brother Sebastian that started the entire NT entry into WAFL/VFL/AFL they were pioneers, and it all started when SFFC official and recruiter moved to Darwin to work and became an official for Saint Mary FC, his name was Richard Woodgate.

Also the role of the Catholic Missions at Melville Island should have been noted for introducing Football and encouraging it as a path way for Aboriginal education, advancement and health. St Marys FC was founded by the Church.

Dempsey was from Birdum and played for Darwin Buffaloes FC.

Disappointing to see G Whateley couldn't find time to acknowledge the achievements of the Kookaburras in winning their 14th Champions Trophy on the ABC's Offsiders programme this morning. Obviously not enough Victorian presence in the Kookaburras to warrant discussing it.
