Well trying to say, "most attention" goes to the assumed leading comp, of which the VFL was. I could say having resided the equal amounts in BOTH states, that Vics dont have an us v them attitude that pervades here. I notice when a WA sportsman does well overseas it on the news is WA ( insert name) does well etc etc. I have always found a lot of WA people have huge chips on their shoulders at times. If Vics are like septics, then WA must be the home of the rednecks eh

Yep, our own comp was ruined just to open the opportunity to beat the Vics at their own game. We took so much pride in defeating the Vics in those classic state of origin games we actually let ourself disrespect our own marvellous comp in the process. WA football will forever pay the price being at bit player in the national format.

I get Unka's point that the VFL was the premier footy competition in Australia till the mid 80's however times have changed, it is 30 years later and there is no excuse for a so called professional sports broadcaster who is talking to a national audience in a hall of fame broadcast to fail to do his research properly and not mention what is a significant influence in the career of an inductee like Maurice Rioli and that is his career at South Fremantle.

The grand final loss was to Claremont not swans

Will Ben Cousins get a nomination at some stage and if so when do you think it will happen? Interested in peoples views here. I think they might wait another 3 or 4 years and it also depends on whether he can keep out of trouble in that time as well.
