Put this on the WPFC thread but have reprinted it here..

WHAT A PATHETIC CLUB THEY ARE AND THE WA UMPIRES... Mr SINCLAIR IS OBVIOUSLY IN THEIR POCKET AS WELL.

East Perth have received an apology from the WAFL umpire department over two critical last quarter free kicks that helped West Perth snatch a remarkable victory last weekend.
As the Royals held a rigorous inquest at the club into their meek surrender that saw West Perth produce an 80-point turnaround in little more than half an hour of football at HBF Arena, the umpires acknowledged their role in the spectacular comeback.

Read this article where the umpires board have apologized to the EPFC
I for one feel sorry for the umpire (s) concerned as they have been indirectly and unjustly blamed for our 12 GOAL TURNAROUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come on.. Obviously a EP official has put in a formal complaint to the Umpires re the umpiring of the the game!!! Howson? The Germ Dawson? it would have to come from this level.

The umpires are being blamed for the EP players performance and their GUTLESS effort in the last qtr.
They talk of Lee and Elbows Wulff being injured that had a bearing.. COME ON!

They talk of errors by the umpires that turned the game... Hold on what about the ERRORS made by the EP players who were out on their legs..

I saw no difference to the umpiring standard compared to many other games and kicks were missed and it went BOTH ways. Pity EP didnt have a good look at THEIR AFL video that gets taken at every AFL alignment game and point the FINGER AT A FEW OF THEIR PLAYERS AND THEIR AFL PUPPET OF A COACH DAWSON.

It is a mixed article where on one hand they claim it wasnt the umpires fault entirely yet the umpires have been dragged over the coals and a FORMAL COMPLAINT must of been made by the EP FOOTBALL CLUB... Its either one or the other but EPFC want it BOTH WAYS.

Here is the article read into it what you will but the Bottom line is Sinclair and his umpires board is bending over for the EPFC. :(

The EPFC should be investigated and the article along with it.. The umpires concerned should be apoligized to by Sinclair and the EPFC for their PATHETIC behavior and Bringing the game into Disrepute.

Pffft wouldn't have anything to do with that filthy trait of being near impossible to stop when you get a run on that you blokes have had since the beginning of time would it? Not sure how you do it but it must have something to do with homosexual blood lines or something??

Not too sure what all the fuss is about here cardy.......everyone blames the umps for when their side loses..they are easy targets......though to me the players really should be.....the swannie fans put it in writing most weeks on here about the umps causing this and that :P

......just be content that you know and plenty of others know WP played fantastic footy to manufacture a win from nothing last week.........who cares what the EP officials think......its customary these days for folk to pass the blame on their respective short comings.....EP choked and WP were good enough to take advantage of that......swings in roundabouts during the season in regards to the umps......every sensible person knows that......dont they Swandog?

No one happier than me sitting on the hill watching us storm home.

BUT - I agree they got it wrong. It didn't change the outcome of the game, we had momentum and EP had stopped but I would have been devastated had an umpire made the same call against us on the goal line.

It's a man's game we play and it should be umpired in that manner. First decision may have been there but the 2nd was atrocious and a result of an umpire trying to put his stamp on the game.

two wrong umpiring decisions don't win or lose a footy match. they might contribute but they're not the determining factor of an outcome. it's the 100 minutes of play either side which dictates the winner and loser

Well a couple of our guys Kody and Blackie thought it was a walk in the park and even started dancing.

Good pic this one. :) Paddy Brophy must of been upset that 2 WP players were doing a IRISH JIG behind him..

After reading the article I too agree I had bile begin to rise with the disgusting intentions behind the articles content.

To have this quote written from the verbal recount of EP Chief Exec Dean (eagle) Turner "The umpires came back to us and said their performance was disgraceful"

Can anyone tell me of a previous time they are aware of the umpires admitting this manner of error - an apparent and quoted disgraceful error to a WAFL club??

I cannot believe this body, maligned as they can be, has lowered itself to admissions of this calibre - no wonder conspiracy theories abound regards AFL involvement

But I would be happy to retract my words if any supporter and blogger on this site could confirm a similar or same statement being given their club after a game where umpiring issues have been noted - I would then like to have examples of a game here NO umpiring failures have been note by one or both sides?.
Let alone a game they were smashed in....

I'll just stand over here and wait............................................. :S

Lastly - Love the pic of the Dancing Westies .... maybe that's a name we can market and get more players to subscribe to - we could then have the umpires become judges .. then games against EP could be titled DANCING WITH THE FARCE

I think everyone agrees that it is as rare as hens teeth that umpiring turns the result of a game and this particular game is certainly not one of them.

What is most concerning is the media publicity surrounding this issue, it is unprecedented. When has there ever been a public apology given to a club for what some with a certain barrow to push have seen as some wrong decisions. It is patently obvious that the powerful EPFC/WCEFC have brought pressure to bear onto the umpires which is imho totally unethical. Clubs are within their rights to make presentations to the umpires advisor with concerns they may have had around some decisions or interpretations, every club has done this on many occasions, but it has always been kept in-house and has always been the policy to not publically bag the umpires so that youngsters don't learn these negative attitudes. Why then has this particular club with particularly powerful connections been able to breach that accepted practice?

I would like to hear some calls into the Saturday morning ABC sportstalk programme asking for an explanation from the EPFC/WCE, the Umpires advisor and the WAFC. No doubt they will all suddenly disappear into their ivory towers feeling they are above explaining their actions.
