You are kidding right? How much advertising revenue did they get back in the last 15 years?

You're just upset that as a West Perth supporter your sponsor wasn't picked to be the broadcaster. Move on and stop your continual complaining.

Ch 7 would not be getting involved if they did not see some potential for earnings and value in providing the broadcast. Can't see any reason they would choose to share this revenue in the long run. Why would they?Assume they will use the WAFL broadcast to bombard their target audience, us footy fans who in general with few exceptions watch both comps, with internal advertising for the AFL matches that they televise as will the Eagles and Dockers if they have any sense. Not a bad thing though, better than no coverage and provides the WAFL with an important and new opportunity for new footy fans to familiarise themselves with the local comp, Can only hope that if and when they televise a SD game v ERT that the scoreboard operator down at Basso hasn't lost his sense of humour

The dollars for the clubs will come from business wanting to have their names on the hoarding, that will lead some to offer $'s for ads and the flow on will be increased revenue for most clubs.

I say most because I can see some issues with a few clubs and their sponsors not being part of the '7' community. WP are already at odds with the WAFL/WAFC with 9 being on the guernseys. That will be an interesting story to follow, Mr Raponi will have his name in lights again in doing his job protecting his club.

Well Ch7 will just have to blur the close-up footage of the Cardies' jumpers - or by the same brush force the WCE reserves side to remove their sponsor logos

The other right thing to do would be to compensate the Cardies for blocking out a sponsor's logo

Stand your ground Cardies tell 'em to get stuffed

Not sure WRT have had to change anything, as for WP yes they should!

I think this should have been thought out before the deal with 7 was signed.
Totally fair that 7 does not want channel 9 advertised during their telecasts.
But also totally fair that WP is fully compensated for taking 9 off their jumpers.
Surly the $100000 a year they get could have been worked into a commercial tv deal.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

west perth will not be removing the channel 9 logo on their jumper, there is no problem at all with it even though 7 is broadcasting games, the president even assured all members this was the case not like another president who didn't even let his members know their soul was sold. :S
