A/man perhaps Peel would have won more games if they had shown some interest in winning matches rather than just practising their defensive structures. As you weren't at the Peel Swans game you wouldn't have seen a Peel forward line with a number of talls which Swans couldn't match; yet Peel showed no inclination to try to use this advantage by kicking the ball long into their forward line. No all they did was chip the ball around in the backline; hence, Clancee Pearce's 39 disposals.

The other aligned teams is set to stroll away with the make believe GF in two weeks. Further how many times has "East Perth" made the GF since 1978 other than when they were involved in an host club alignment?

I tipped East Perth for the premiership and Peel for the spoon.

East Perth already had a very good side and terrific WAFL talent. They basically got to ditch their worst 10 players in the league team and replace them with professional AFL footballers. It was always going to make them substantially stronger.

Peel on the other hand have always been terrible and have a poor culture. Injecting a bunch of kids (which most Freo reserves have been) into that environment was never going to work to the same degree. As they develop they should improve however.

Interesting observation. East Perth make it quite easily through to the grand final and not a single post about it on their bit of the forum. Perth get another wooden spoon and there's 50 plus pages on who the next coach might be. Hmmmm.....

I find it out and out bizzare the amount of self reflection and naval gazing that Perth people do year in and year out perhaps they just think to much.

I dont ever remeber Subi people conducting the amount of intra club pschyo anylasis that perth people do when they were shit for years.

Its one of the most unique syndromes in WAFL history.

With the new rules that look like being looked at, I can't see Peel changing all that much. They will be required to play a load of under 23 players. along with players from Fremantle who are not ready for the next step.
Swan why would I go to Peel games? I am a South Fremantle supporter. Yes I am more than interested in how the Dockers player at Peel go. But I am Red and White at heart. Well in the WAFL anyway. Always have been and always will be.
But hey, I have told you all this before.

But you don't go to Souths' games either! Interesting comments about Peel playing a lot of young guys; in at least one game there were 15-16 Freo aligned players in the league - not much room there for young players I would have thought.

Swan Why would I go watch something that really doesn't interest me now a great deal I am a Souths follower, always have been always will be.
In regards to players being young, that means age. Have a look at the majority of the Dockers KIDS that have played for Peel. Players like Apeness, Pearce(Alex).
Thought I would state that before you go off on a rant about it being Clancee, and still being Swans player. Ballard, Grey, Vandeleur, Woods,Crozier,Duffy,Sheridan,Smith,Taberner. The oldest of those is just 22 years of age.Probably the most experienced at the level of WAFL or the equivalent competition, would be Duffy who played a few games at East Freo.
Just because players are on an AFL list doesn't make them mature, some or in most case, most are still kids.
But don't let your ideas get in the way of the truth.

The majority of players on WAFL lists are young too you do realise ...and thats also without the full time training!
