Simple fact is that as a second tier competition it needs a complete overhaul.

I would like to see it being aged based Colts, 20' and 23's. The 23's should averaged over the team so there is a sprinkling of older players. teams should also be able to apply for exemptions with the other clubs agreeing 2 or 3 marquee players.

The competition would then be a dratfing process, which it is already and may encourage a younger supporter base.

Not sure that it would help but something needs to be done.

What a load of shit Grump

That is just an East Perth supporter trying to justify their club selling our competition out for their own personal gain.
Before this Alignment bullshit the WAFL comp was starting to pick up again and was a great competition, so don't try and cover this up by making up crap.

The facts are that EP have sold us all out and rooted this comp.....but you know what, I do believe in Karma.

Fair enough Falcon, your opinion.

I would put Grump in the non-delusional camp of EP supporters. That is, he realises that it is not EP which will win the 2014 GF. He is by no means a Barney, Larry Bird et al.

Don't worry about poor old Swan his comprehension skills are some of the worst I have ever encountered. It is actually a documented disease called receptive language disorder, you can't read other peoples writing and extract the proper meaning. Had a good chat with three board members the President and CEO yesterday. As well as an applicant for the Perth coaching role. Good to get an idea on the clubs direction for the future and the use by date of the alignment etc. Also what is taking place at other clubs which is always fun.

Make Hay while the sun shines is the theme because it's not permanent. The situation is too fluid to be certain anything and everything is on the table. But a merger with Perth will not happen so the Perth supporters will be happy about that.

Obviously I must still be upset with our loss yesterday. I have done Barney a disservice by suggesting he is a delusional EP supporter. My sincerest apologies. It really should have been Jardine.

It is a fact that over the last 2/3 years the WAFL was going thru a resurgance. La Hincha noted this when he made his Crowd figures posts.
So dont come up with this shit about it getting worse it was actually getting better as people were comming back to WAFL. Even Percy Johnson commented on this in one of his interviews. He said people were getting sick of the Sanitised football at AFL level and were comming back to the Grass roots footy.
I have noticed since the alignment the crowds are dropping off again. Probably due to the Alignment and people becoming disillusion with the shit and they have had enough.

Bottom line the WAFC/WAFL is only interested in their own welfare and the cash flow as they are both going broke... A loss last year to the WAFC which flows on to the WAFL. They are not doing to well this year either...

The clubs especially WP and SD are doing a good job in promoting the game through feature days etc etc.. They get the crowds in as can be shown at Joondalup. There is no reason why they couldnt continue along these lines.
This message represents the official view of the voices in my head

There was a resurgence in 2009, then a steady decline since, as you say it was tepid at the most, but this Host Club set up just seals the deal.
