Cardy wrote: Hear Hear BH.. The guy obviously has met or even EVER listened to this guy talk. Percy is a guy who knows footy... Talks Footy and even though the loves the old Cliches like Head down first to the ball... Attack in Numbers, Tackle hard etc etc he is spot on.. Trouble with the modern coach especially AFL they are all about computuers and readouts and expert opinions from sub coaches..
Shit Footy isnt Rocket science and Percy expounds that point.
My son was at Melville High many years ago and Percy coached them on a few occasions... I listened to him and always walked away knowing he got the message accross to the kids and I was impressed with his Logical look at the game and his Football knowledge.

Agree BH the guy has a football brain that would be hard to beat by many of even the better coaches in the WAFL/AFL... From what I have seen Percys biggest problem (If you can call it that) is he says it as he sees it and some just dont like that.

I suggest you have a listen to the interview LB... You will see what we mean

Bazza bullshit he must of had a shit SF team anyway.. better luck next year with Curley :(

Well said Cardy. Percy calls it as he sees it. Still involved and very knowledgeable re footy.

It's a simple game that most coaches try and make into something it isn't. Take a look at junior coaches these days...most follow the AFL shit and segregate the groups at the breaks and talk crap. Fark me it's junior footy for crying out loud. I don't bother going out to listen anymore as all they do is speak a load of shit to pass time until the head coach actually addresses them all.

Keep on punching Percy...it's still a pleasure to listen to you!!!

Fark you grasping at straws relying on an old has been motor mouth like Perc, nice enough bloke but has always talked shit, at least he had the good sense to mention Jako,,

Bazza = straight shooter, should be more like you. Poor old Percy goes to the fridge the light comes on and he gives a twenty minute speech. I'm sure he will be stuffed and mounted at the museum so you can go and visit Cardy but my recommendation is don't use the head phones.

Perhaps LB you should talk to some of the Swans' players he has helped in recent years to see if they think he is "totally disconnected". PJ is a true legend of the game and deserves a great deal of respect from anyone who loves the WAFL or indeed Aussie Rules. That he is still willing to provide any assistance he can to developing young footballers is something to be admired. In a contest between LB and PJ I know who I would respect and I would humbly suggest that would be the same as most on that forum. Alas and alack the person would not be LB.

When Percy agrees with my views on football I think he is an expert with a very good modern football brain.

When Percy disagrees with my views on football I think he is an codger stuck in the past and we should put him out to pasture.

The guy has verbal diarrhoea I'm sure he knows plenty but what's to know its a very basic game. I have as much respect for the guy as I do for any one that volunteers especially at local level or with kids. But sorry most of the time his thoughts are just to simplistic for me. He is as relic that should be treated kindly listened to respectfully but no more than anyone else. He reminds me of myself old angry and trying to remain relevant in the world. Thank you guys for including and old bloke like me in your chat forum.

I suspect one remains relevant. Perhaps you should listen to his comments and then come back and refute, if you can, those comments.

You really do have to laugh when you have an ex cop & a wafc stooge pretending to be a septuagenarian questioning Percy's football credentials & knowledge without even speaking to him personally face to face to hear his thoughts on the game!

BH I am not sure that I would post something like your last comment without some proof.
