Final score
Vic Metro 15.20 (110) def WA 2.11 (23)

11 Ryan Lim He seemed to put in 100% and busted his guts

Sorry if I have offended anyone but it was a disgraceful performance the WA boys.

Was not at game but got a report from someone close to the action, that WA over used the ball with too much handball, coughed it up, then were steam rolled in the second half.

Ryan Lim I think maybe former 15's State Captain Brendan Lims' brother. B.Lim has left Claremont and is playing for Kukerin Dumbleyung. He got leather poisioning today

Funny you say that Kirbs because I thought Vic Metro actually overdid the handball from what I saw..Thought it a couple of times while watching the game..
Agree Beasley SIU was one I didnt mention and he did have a good game. Just one I didnt note on my post..I did have a team list so got to know the players over 4 qtrs and the ones I mentioned did stand out.
Took not of Clem Smith as he got a bit of a write up in the SA game but wasnt to effective today.

Pickett IMO opinion did a lot and will go on to be a player of the future. I thought he was outstanding. Ok when he did something he was flashy but having said that he was class and in the last qtr saw him take on 3 Vics and beat them and he passed and should of been a goal.. Pretty sure was involved in the 2 goals we got.
Cant ask much more of the guy and I assure you when he develops and gets a bit of maturity and good coaching he will be a champion.
Dont follow the colts but maybe someone from SF/Jandakot can fill us in there.

No stats from this game and not sure if he played in the SA game so maybe wrong on that but his speed and agility impressed. Reminded me of Hilly in his earlier days from Freo

Big wrap I know on a one time viewing B)

Heres a roundup of the Game... Couple of WA boys get a good wrap up
Lets hope the WA Side can show some improvement in comming games.
Full article at

www.afl.com.au/news/2014-05-31/draft-pro...-amok-in-win-over-wa

HIGHLY-RATED draft prospect Christian Petracca starred as Victoria Metro pounded Western Australia by 87 points in round two of the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships division one competition on Saturday.

Metro rebounded from its loss to Victoria Country with a dominant 15.20 (110) to 2.11 (23) triumph at Medibank Stadium in Perth.

A host of top Metro prospects played influential roles in the big win, while potential father/son selection Alec Waterman racked up 35 touches for WA.

But the son of West Coast dual-premiership player Chris had little help.

Here is a vide from Round 1.. Vic Metro v Vic Country and SA v WA..
It is interesting..and gives some good insight from the experts

Heres the stats from ROUND 1 SA V WA.. For the WA boys.
Sorry about the delay but they are a bit slow updating on the Site :(

what's the news about Clem Smith could be in trouble for knocking out some Vic boy with a frustrated head high tackle?......reports he could get suspended.....what impact does that have on the WAFL if he gets a fair few weeks?.......

surely this fella Pratt must be on his last legs as u/18 state coach?.....saying that are we biased about WA own talent?.....if the team keeps getting hammered, one can only see a handful of kids getting drafted....way down on previous years sadly......good for the local clubs though if these kids develop and become good WAFL players.

Freezin dont know about the report and the NAB U18 website is useless
It could come out in the stats when they put them up. Didnt see the incident but could of and shrugged it off as minor - I hope so :)

I didnt mention the umpires as the win was conclusive and didnt think it was worth a Comment.

I did notice the WA boys got the rough end of the stick and decisions were soft against them including 3 x 50 mtrs where two of them did not deserve 50 :(

No23 umpire was the ringleader and he loved his whistle,... Yeh there were wearing numbers which made me think they could of been from Victoria or WA ump and had to wear numbers. One thing that should be bought into the WAFL.

Now I did notice Clem was not a happy chappy when he came off and this could of influenced his game. The domination by the Vics would of been pretty upsetting to a few of the boys and they were making a lot of mistakes e.g turnovers etc and this is not conducive to good footy in my book as they lose a bit of control.
They were not backing each other up and saw many a contest where 1 of our guys went in and no one supported him. 2nd efforts were non existant and basically I thought a lot of them were playing as individuals rather than as a TEAM

The one time they shone was in the 2nd qtr and the were a different team. Numbers to the ball and it all clicked.. for about 10 minutes

Just my opinion. Glad to see you picked up my comments re the coach who addressed the boys but there was certainly no urgency or plans to stop the flood :(

I would like to see a guy who the boys can look up to (not saying they dont) and who they will listen to. His instructions were text book stuff and pretty ordinary.

I know this is a bit one eyed but I go to the reserves games and have found Paul Sanzone a great ressies coach because the changes his match plan around to try and put us back on top at every change. It has resulted in WPFC Reserves comming back and in one case from 6 goals down to win games. The players listen to him and follow instructions and this is all constructive.
Dont know who this guy coaching the U18 is and dont know his history but for games such as the U18 Championships we have to get the best..
Sure there are a couple of good Ressies coaches around or as I mentioned Darren Harris who is involved with the state 18's BUT IS NOT COACHING!
Doesnt make sense to me.. Wonder what Percy Johnson is doing these days as he has a football brain and players look up to him.

Just my opinion and would love to be proved wrong. Going to be a big ask to turn it around though as Vic Country beat Vic Metro so it is not going to get any easier
I feel sorry for the players as they must be busting their guts but doing it the wrong way and they need to be pointed in the right direction..

Played today

South Australia (9.21.75) the only unbeaten side after beating Vic Country (8.5.53). Stretch & Johansen had 24 disp, Neal-Bullen had 20.

South Australia hold Vic Country scoreless in the 3rd term,

Roundup of the game... at www.afl.com.au/news/2014-06-01/sa-wins-a...tch-over-vic-country

Strange enigma.. SA didnt beat us by as much as Vic Metro... Vic Metro were beaten by Vic country and SA beat Vic Country.

How different was our team that played Vic Metro compared to the team that played SA?

I saw him lay a good bump on a Vic freeze but I would be shocked if it was worth a suspension but then again these days you only have to sneeze on a bloke to get time!!
As for Pratt what exactly is his claim to fame? I dont remember him playing at WAFL/AFL level and he was only at Peel as an assistant before getting the 18's gig sounds like another WAFC stuff up like the appointment of our C.O.O!!

Stats from STATE GAME V SA

Good spread of disposals by the team with a lot of them getting a feel of the ball

As I said in previous prev re Vic Metro game I was impressed with Jarrod Pickett and seems to have put in a blinder in this game along with a couple of others.

Big test again this week when take on Vic Country at Fremantle oval at 11am
Weather is looking good so worth a trip to Freo to watch.

Great team effort looking at these stats :) Good Tackle count by Steward and Dragovich

Review of game off U18 WEBSITE

www.afl.com.au/news/2014-06-07/dees-pote...n-pick-shines-for-sa

In short full article above

MELBOURNE father-son prospect Billy Stretch was among a host of Croweaters who boosted their chances at November's NAB AFL Draft in South Australia's come-from-behind win over Western Australia.

The son of former Demon (164 games) and Fitzroy (25 games) player, Steven Stretch, starred on a wing and had good support from SA captain Jake Johansen and likely top-five draft pick Sam Durdin.

WA's most influential player was Jarrod Pickett, who kicked three goals in round three of the NAB AFL under-18s Championships at Medibank Stadium.

Western Australia came into the match rank underdogs after an abysmal effort in an 87-point loss to Vic Metro last round.

But the home side led for most of the match before being overrun by five points, with SA keeping its perfect record intact.
