WAFL GF on the same day as the big 40th Anniversary Americans Cup Celebrations down at Freo - free live bands and more plus the Royal Show is on.

Not great planning.

yes and the AC celebrations are going to be well attended I'm told - should be pretty full in Fremantle

Officialdoms thinking is everyone goes to the royal show in the morning. They are all happy and jolly when they leave, then all go to the grand final in the afternoon.

Should of been played the week after the AFL GF.Like 2022 at Leederville Oval
Last year wafl GF was in the top 5 of all Google searches last year in Perth.Makes you wonder what crowd they could of got at,OO.
It will just slip by in 2023 with other things to do.
Maby last year was because WP GF at Leederville Oval??

Spot on, I loved the week after the AFL GF format seemed to work well for a couple of years...make you wonder if the WAFC really want a decent crowd, cannot see it being a big one especially of peel make it.

Happy jolly, tired and broke more like and keen to get home.

Geez, everybody here is awfully quick to forget that the WAFC's original plan for this year's GF was to have it the week after the AFL GF, only for the clubs to bitch and moan and force them to change it back to where it is now!

Agree about the GF being after the AFL, it was done 2 years in a row and the Subi v SF Gf had just under 30k attend and it would have been similar or more for last year if at Optus.  Whatever weekend it's held, if Peelmantle make it, which is what everyone expects, it will be a disaster. Mind you the WAFC will likely allow free entry for Freo FC members to try and boost the numbers while the WAFL punters will have to pay.

More than happy with the Grand Final at optus and the timing. Scored a couple of free tickets in block 143 and even better news my side is in it!
