I think it was an audit that was only conducted on the two grand finalists in 2021, Subi and South.
Penalising 8 premiership points in a season is very harsh. They should appeal based on precedent.
Fully agree with a fine though.

well yes the ultimate responsibility is at the very top - our President would be the one to wear it of course
if there is a whistleblower he's helped clear us of deliberately breaching salary cap but found a rookie reporting error

Like to think so mate, but I tend to be with Roman, goner tough to get the players up.

Southerner, you may be right and will galvanise the playing group in an us v them frame of mind. I recall the West coast fever girls were penalised 4 games worth of points and went on to make or nearly make their finals, so maybe a bit of a call to arms. You feel for the players and the general SF punters who have to carry the burden of an incompetent admin. The very quick acceptance of the penalties by the SF board might indicate they dont want any more questioning which may uncover facts they don't want made public. If as you say it was a simple missed tick in a box, the penalties are disproportionate and should be a fine and reduced cap. Taking points is extreme, maybe if you'd breached the cap like the Melbourne storm did by millions, they lost a full season of points and 2 premierships.

Stop your sulking it's embarrassing. You want to question how your players can find the motivation? Maybe go and ask some of our senior players like Michael Sinclair and Cory Byrne who have remained loyal and give their all week in week out year in year out with the knowledge we are way behind the 8 ball before the season even starts year in year out. 

Oh how the privileged have fallen when it's not all going their way.

Wonder if the young Peel ruckman may have to look for another club as Souths try to restructure their list with a reduced points and $$$$ cap. Perth would offer some good dollars for the lad and he'd be right under the eye of the evil empire.

 The WAFC knew they were investigating $ouths why didn't they put Broadbent's clearance application on hold pending the investigation? Needs to be questions asked of them as well.
