You old relics need to catch up.

The tenders to host the GF went out literally weeks ago.

WPFC are one of a few to apply, I understand SDFC SFFC and Subi have also applied.

My sentiments exactly. I won’t be either and it really brings me to question why I should bother supporting my club and the WAFL at all because we all do it to be there on that ultimate day in September. If I can’t sit comfortably out of the weather, have first class amenities and catering services!if that’s too much for a WAFL supporter to ask who puts his heart and soul into barracking and supporting his or her club with all the passion I can muster then I will not be attending any grand final even if my team is in it and I will be making that point patently clear to Perth president Bob Shields when I see him next.

I might even hand him my membership and say thanks for the memories.

Southerner was aware of it and it was in the media some time ago.

Maybe I am in the minority here, but this site doesnt represent the be all and end all of the public or club administration does it. Its about 20 blokes pissing in the wind.

I've spoken to Bob, he lives in Freo and reckons Freo should be the new permamant revamped venue.

What lost revenue are you talking about? The WAFL and particpating clubs made a profit of $250,000.00 last year and that was with a bullshit covid cap of 10K crowd.

Both GFs at Optus ran at a loss and/or  with no return to participating clubs.
 

The GF is supposed to be the pinnacle of the WAFL season and to play it at Freo Oval last year due to cost was an embarrassment not only reputation wise but also visually. FFS...ammos play their's at suburban grounds so why is it so hard to play the highest state league comp decider at the best footy oval in the country? Any losses at Optus Stadium should be underwritten by the WAFC but if they promoted, marketed and costed ticket sales correctly, I can't for the life of me see how they could run it at a loss.

Did Bob also tell you he is involved in property development down Freo way so possibly has a vested interest? And is his personal friend Peter Christie (your president) also in property development down Freo way? Sounds more like a couple of swinging dicks shooting the breeze and looking after their own interests.

The WAFC should get off their collective behinds and go to the government and negotiate with the state government to allow the WAFL GFs to be played at the premier Aussie Rules stadium in Perth.  It is about time they earned some of their salaries and do some work.
