Always one.

The eagles are saying they will lose 1mill today, dickers say they lost half a million last week.

They won’t/didn’t.

Not being able to make revenue is not an expense.

That is it. That is the only point I made or want to make.
Are you suggesting that the Eagles or Dockers had no costs associated with hosting games at Optus over the last 2 weeks?

Pretty sure it’s been reported previously that both teams need 25-30k in attendance to break even?

it is also to do with revenue.both teams would have budgeted for a crowd.loss of revenue may affect what wafl clubs get.on another point some clubs didn't want to play last year  as they thought they would be better of financially.the fact we did have a short wafl  season combined with jobkeeper and jobseeker meant  that all clubs had healthy profits.what if several afl games are played  without a crowd.or what if several rounds of wafl are called off.whether the regular wafl supporter likes it or not we are tied to the financial success of both afl clubs and one is tied financially to the eagles more then all others.

Come on Chaddy.
This sort of genius logic goes someway to explaining why Perth have been the way they have been for decades.

Even the most basic managerial and financial nouce seems to be a miss.

They cry poor! They'll survive!
if they don't make profits who do you mugs think suffer the .wafl  and clubs will have to tighten their belts.we will have to go to the government and beg for a top up of what both afl clubs  won;t be able to provide.
Agree with you chaddy .  It’s a bit hard for some people to understand that if the king of the castle falls, everything under it suffers as well.
Yep the sad fact is the WAFL survives soley on the dribble down scraps from the two local AFLers, Once that dries up the whole structure suffers.

That's apart from the fact the WCE have been allowed to amass a huge fortune in breach of the WAFC Constitution.  This was never supposed to happen, both WCE and FFC were to spread income back to WAFL.

Could be lucky all the Wafl matches played today. If not, would be an anxious wait.
Isn't there another game tomorrow?

Yep, FART v WART just before the COVID super spreader event at Optus. You couldn't make this shit up.
I was genuinely concerned the super spreader event at Optus would go ahead, fortunetly Kerry Stokes didnt make the call,  45,000 going there packed in Trains and then going home to all four corners of the City would of been madness, especially as we now know the security guard went from Spud Shed to a Mosque and everywhere in between and his two infected mates were Uber delivery drivers.

Why hasn't the WAFC done something about providing an income stream from the Eagles and Dockers to ensure that the WAFL and its clubs have a sustainable future?

thats what we were all sold back then mate - but from some responses here it seems a top heavy monster is able to accrue a squillion while the feeder comp dies from meagre returns that should be pumped back to sustain the monster

The WC monster losing a mill is like me losing $20 on my losing lotto this week, means absolutely nothing in the big scheme of things. Their massive cash reserves got hit last year with covid, the poor princesses reportedly dropped from something like $60mill all the way down to $35mill ... shock horror, most AFL clubs would give their collective left testicles to have that sort of cash reserve. Why does it have to be so massive when our historic state league struggles from week to week. Its a vicious circle where the WAFC wont support or promote the WAFL so it's fading away then say it's not worth supporting ... because its fading away FMD!!

there's also the not so little matter of a brand new facility paid for by everyone but them so that drop we keep hearing about suddenly doesn't sound all that rotten
and now they want to renege on a scoreboard for the host WAFL club
and not pay much of their WAFL licence fee

it really is not a personal slant against 58 or anyone else or who supports , is a member of whatever
a better return to the feeder system that sustains the top and who owns the licence in the first place and to the taxpayers who bailed it out in 1989 is what this one is
