WAFL Ceo was just on 91.3 and said Rd 4 would definitely be played- most likely later in the year. He said games would go ahead without crowds and that the State game would go ahead and he wouldn't want that Rd 4 to be made up then with compromised teams.

DD I recognise your angst, I don't feel it cos frankly I reckon you're wrong but each to their own.

In the Worst today which is a highly reputable source they quote The Cookie Monster as saying 6PR (even more reputable than the worst) that there will be crowds allowed at the VFL derby which surely means if they have a crowd we can have a crowd.
What do you think I was saying in my opening line? Mixed messages, hedging their bets, having a bob  each way?

There’s already a topic covering this. Why start another?

Is that fair dinkum KCEF?
Absolutely absurd stuff but this is the WAFC we are talking about!
And if SA close the border to WA what happens on that weekend then?

And what is this bullshit about having WAFL games go ahead but without crowds?
So it was ok to have Western Farce (and Wildcats) games go ahead with no crowd restrictions despite there already being a lockdown announced as there were Covid cases (a whole 2 I might add) within the community but the WAFL cant play let alone with a crowd.
This Govt is thicker than the Alfred's famous Ham & Pea soup!

Doesnt make much sense, does he mean it will be added as an extra fixture at end of year?

Does he mean games this games this weekend no crowds? why? the crowd ban is only until Friday. Or is he talking about the added round 4 game?

Sorry BH, he meant that the Round would likely go ahead with or without crowds- he wasn't suggesting that that decision had been made.

He did mention that SA will need to tick off if the State team is permitted to come into the state.

I would be amongst the last to defend the WAFC.  It seems to me that with respect to this Saturday's fixtures and whether there will be crowds or not the WAFC is simply following the current advice from the state government.  McGowan said that a decision vis a vis whether there will be a crowd at the Freo Eagles game will be made around Thursday or Friday.  If the decision is made to allow that game to go ahead with a crowd I would expect the WAFC to confirm that crowds will be allowed at the WAFL games as well.

It's wait and see until Friday, if no further cases come up I think there's a very good chance we can go to the footy, in my case it's a block buster Subi v SF at Freo oval. If they allow a crowd it may place restricted numbers on the indoor areas around the bar etc as is the case for all clubs and pubs.

It wont be a BLOCK BUSTER with crowd restrictions and masks most wont bother with it,
