EP wont, same for Su, Cl, SF, EF, SD, peel are Freo's bitches, that only leaves Perth or Joondy. Cant see Perth selling their souls, so that leaves Joondy who are in debt to everyone and would be a prime target for a take over by West Coast. They could do an EP and get themselves out of the financial shite by selling out to WC.

With the footy season finishing 3 weeks ago, the next thing will be focussing on the recommendations from the parliamentary inquiry. Can't see anything moving until then.
Don't really know what the committee will summarise or if anything will be acted upon?
It is fantastic to have a 2021 wish list, but if the whole mess doesn't get sorted out properly this time, sadly it never will.

Maybe like many Royals did, hand in your membership and go away until the alignment is ditched. That's what I would do if my mob went the alignment. Go off and watch local Avon Valley footy.

You could be right SS. Neale Fong and his missus have been known to be frivolous with other people's money so imagine what they could do with WCE's.

I don't think they would align with WP-J because of where they play; they have always been Subicentric that lot. The Eagles are only at the PFC and Burswood at the behest of Barnett; before that, they had never heard of Laithlan Park.

Perth are going to be their obvious choice for an alignment. Our board must stay strong and flatly refuse. I have a sneaky feeling we may be forced to accommodate them.

How can we be forced? I don't know much about the WAFL constitution or conditions of club licences, but I would be surprised if they allowed the WAFL to force a club to effectively fold - which is what I would regard an alignment as. I agree with StT. The first step is that the WAFL clubs have to stand firm, in that no-one should volunteer for an alignment. Then the ball is in the WAFL's court whether they are prepared to allow a reduced fee from WCE and also the sort of recruiting concessions they seem to want. History suggests the WAFL will give them what they want, but it would be nice if the WAFL could hold firm for once and insist WCE pay the same licence fee they agreed on initially.
