For all the hype, 7k more than the WAFL in a 50K stadium is pretty piss poor.

Apparently so, just a tick over 17 thou for their Grand Final.
If SA not had density requirements in place, they more likely would have doubled that number.
The SANFL Grand Final attendance being just over 39000 for the 2019 season, and about 40½ thousand the season before that.

Yep spot on WAG & 30+.
No wonder they double our GF attendances every year as they play their GF at a comfortable world class stadium in the heart of their capital city not on a hot concrete slab patch in a run down ghost town like the WAFL!

Still 7 K more than our GF and 7 K more able to attend the game - and at a great venue. Piss poor was the idea of holding our GF at Freo oval - surely most of those who did manage to get a ticket would have preferred it to be somewhere else.

hang on clown, we had it at Optus last two years...that didnt help get the attendance up to SANFL attendance levels, so Optus clearly is not pulling 1000s is it...

And Optus is a bloody long way from the heart of the CBD.

Pubs packed in the so called run down ghost town Sunday, spoke to a SDFC mate of mine who came down just for the atmosphere and he stayed until 11pm and loved the day.

suck it up pal

I think you are letting your imagination run away a bit Bazza. Having the game close to your home is hardly a reason for having it at Freo Oval - so draw a line through that. Does provide some insight into how self absorbed you are though. Most of the crowd would of preferred not to have had to sit on concrete with no protection from the the weather. The conservative estimate of 10 K who missed out because it was held at Freo would of wished it wasn't played at Freo Oval. All these people you know - what sort of number are we talking here? !0? 20? So that is 10 or 20 against 20 thousand. Having the GF at Freo Oval has only been successful if your intention is to junk the competition.

Shockingly uncomfortable experience sitting in the outer, I left at half time. Please play the grand final at a stadium I can pay for a seat and enjoy the day.

Now we know you are lying!

2 years ago WP vs SU drew 25k at Optus so maybe it is just SF who cant pull a crowd?!
And the only clown around here is the Bozzo named Bazza who believe's playing the biggest game of the biggest WA State level sporting competition at an well out of date, run down facility, with 60 year old concrete slabs baking in the outer as seating is actually progressive!

You are not making much sense - you claimed SANFL doubled the attendance playing at the AO? that didnt even happen this year, they didnt double it.

And we played at Optus last two years and did that get our numbers up to SANFL levels - no. Because last year they got 40,000 and we got 18k @ Optus PLAYING AT OPTUS. So clearly just playing it at Optus is not going to make the crowds flood in as you falsely claim.

The first year, first ever Optus WAFL GF, a heap of free tickets, pretty good rivals WP v Subi and it only pulled 25K..not even half capacity, so why didnt they fill it if Optus is so great? The following year it collapsed to 18K basically what the Sanfl got this year. The bottom line is despite its huge capacity and facilities people arent flocking to it just because of the venue and the plastic seat. And through the year , WAFL people attend suburban grounds anyway for all the games and other finals and none of them have the luxury of Optus , yet magically apparently they cannot cope on one day unless its a red carpet treatment on GF day and they have a AFL drink holder, sounds like a load of BS to me.

Anyway you're opinion is irrelevant, the WAFL Wont be back at Optus any time soon as there was far more positive feedback than negative - Deal with it.

Convenience of transport and location is a pretty important factor to a lot of people , Optus is a pain in the arse to get to from the Western Suburbs , and the PTA don't put special trains on, especially for locals and as it happened for Claremont people from the Western burbs it worked out easier as well. They might make the effort for the AFL but for WAFL its another matter.

I live in the Western Suburbs and find Optus Stadium by train a doddle. But difficulty could vary depending on the suburb though. For Claremont people in the Western Suburbs I would of thought by Optus by train not too difficult. Certainly more rewarding for 10 or 15 minutes added to your journey once you get there!
