I wasn’t there, so can’t comment on whether I though it was a success or not. All I know, is that some of the footy panelists said the game itself was not a very high standard. I haven’t seen any comments on the end of game presentations. There was a bit of booing according to sports fm.

The best that can be said about the whole thing and it's only saving grace is that it was a close game.

And Subi didn't make the finals.
Let alone the GF.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!

Not taking anything away from the 22 and their coach but you win a gf played at your home ground...

You’re probably right, but this isn’t a first. Subi have won flags at their home ground, how many flags have been won in the AFL on home grounds?

Yeah I was thinking about the subi example last night and thought yes but 1 all finals were played there back in the day and 2 it never really felt like a subi home ground in the day.

As for Richmond and hawthorn etc winning flags at mcg don’t worry there are plenty who think it is complete and utter bs. Many many many people.

Yes dont disagree in regards to Subi Oval factor but we cant forget it was League Headquarters (as Gary Carvolth always termed it) for close to 100 years hence why it was where virtually most of the Finals & GFs were held there from the 1920s!
To my knowledge Fremantle Oval has never been the WAFL HQ?

Subi did all their training at Subi and played all their home games for the whole season at Subi, how could it not "feel" like its home ground? Had their clubrooms and memberst and there their members could pile into a GF there unlike any other club, SF werent allowed to do that this year.
Yep all finals played there, so they had the advantage leading in as well more so than now, now they share the semis around to home grounds - so what is your point?

Melbourne have had the MCG as their home ground for 100 plus years, Richmond Collingwood al have it as a home ground as well. I guess better put asterisk next to all their GF wins there.

Guys, please get your facts right, Subi moved from Subi oval in 2001 i think it was, when Leederville became our home ground. The run of GF appearences started with the loss to WP in 2003, the previous and last "home ground" GF was another loss to WP in '95. Subi oval held no advantage for Subi after 2001. the 2 flags lost to peelmantle were actually home ground finals for 15-17 of the peelmantle/Freo plyares who had played dozens more games at Subi oval than Subi had. The only games Subi played at Subi oval, like every other non aligned club was in finals.

Well aware of that, was talking more of the WAFL Golden era Gfs in 80s for example.

Obviously a screw lose here with STT.

CL flogged us by 8 goals two weeks earlier...ON THE SAME GROUND!

for those who didn't see it don't let the score board fool you it was tough as nails uncompromising football, there was no room to move for anyone hence the skills might not have looked the best at times, 100% given by all players for all 4 quarters, cant ask for much more?
