Yes I think you're right SS. My daughter's wedding is in September and there's 60 invited guests...somehow I don't think it's going to happen as planned.

Exactly tell us why Gavin? We are all waiting.
We don't have to travel. Thus we are low risk of contracting the virus.
We don't draw the crowds. Thus we are low risk.
C'mon Gavin come out of the closet and tell us why?

It's not only about crowds Roman which are now reduced to max 100, it's more the players and staff who are considered a higher risk than those of AFL clubs. AFL players are full time so they can in effect live in a cocoon if they need to, clubs will look after them.

Fremantle have moved their training base to Optus Stadium, the girls will stay at Cockburn. That's just an example of what AFL clubs can do. WAFL players are no different to you and I, they have jobs to make ends meet therefore are as vulnerable as the rest of us.

Sorry DD I won't buy that. AFL Players have families to go home to just like everybody else. They won't isolate from their partners and kids. It's double standards of the the highest order.

Exactly Roman, well said. I'm glad others can see it.
Not sure of others thoughts, but I'm sick and tired of having to endure officialdoms stupid bloody excuses!

Yes thats true but thats only a few people to deal with, WAFL players have different workplaces or TAFE/UNI, often with many people to deal with. An AFL players partner or family are easy to isolate as that is 1 unit. Workplaces, uni's etc are made up of many many different individuals or family units which makes those WAFL players much harder to protect. It's about the players not the punters.

The simple fact is the whole game from grass roots up depends on the success of the game at the top. It's a trickle down effect. With no AFL there is no grass roots. We just have to accept it and cop it on the chin. If CH7 and Foxtel don't have a product to broadcast then they withdraw the 400 odd million they paid for the 2020 season and it puts into jeopardy broadcast rights in future seasons.

Not only WAFL, but ammos, country leagues and junior footy are all forced to shut down to contain the virus simple as that.

Do the WAFL & the clubs get the broadcast money they put up back ($1million from memory?) from Ch7 if there is no WAFL broadcast on TV this season?

Stand the Test wrote: No new cases so far today. I am not dismissive of the threat, far from it, but why was our season called off so early??

17 new cases in WA today and the first that may not be from overseas travellers. All borders closed to no Australian cits.
