Yeah, but I reckon it could be hard to control mate.

Tbh I reckon even that is a risk, with the number of senior cits most wafl clubs have its a risk jammed into a members area, imagine the shit publicity if one died from it caught at the wafl.

Would only work if the grandstands, members seating areas and social rooms were closed and punters could only sit in the outer where space is available for the appropriate separation.

SS, the problem with a December finish is that players would then have to back up again only 3 months later for the 2021 season. I guess players from the NT play WAFL with a short turnaround so it can be done, but I think finishing later than the end of October would be problematic.

Yeah and then clubs lose all the bar trade, and older folks their comfort.

The AFL wishes to advise that following a meeting with AFL State CEOs a collective decision has been made to postpone the operation and / or the commencement of each premier State League and national and state talent program across the country.

The decision was collectively agreed upon based on the part-time nature of these competitions and the financial implications for the State League clubs and State Leagues.

This decision is effective until May 31.

The AFL will continue to explore all fixturing alternatives to ensure matches are played, however, acknowledges the situation is fluid and any decision made may change.

Given current modelling I saw last week suggests August will be our worst month in Australia I can't see how a May 31 start date will work....unless of course updated assumptions have brought the August timeframe forward.

WA has 28 confirmed coronavirus cases. Due to local equipment shortages, COVID-19 testing is now restricted to people who have recently returned from overseas and have flu-like symptoms, or people who have had close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case - i guess our clueless leaders are unaware that some will have the virus yet will not display any symptoms.
