Can't add to what you said BH, what a comprehensive trouncing. If only we could transfer the 20/20 dominance to shield cricket!!! Would not be surprised to see Brosnan interested in season 2018.

Haha yes that is true Unk but to be fair JL has been quite astute with his International selections mostly picking Poms who are low key good players and good team men (eg Bell, Willey, Bresnan, Carberry, Collingwood et al) not big heads like Pietersen, Swann etc or the 20/20 guns for hire like Gayle, McCullum, Russell, Pollard et al who apart from McCullum are overpaid and under perform consistently out here!

gtr: yes, I understand your love for all three versions of the game; the good thing about the 20/20 is that it is bringing in lots of money to the different associations around the country.

I am with you on Bell: I would rather have him bat at five for WA than Mitch Marsh, whom I think has batted as high as four.

Almost forget, congratulations on the resounding win of the scorchers.

Ark I think Big Bash has taken the sleeping megamonster soccer by surprise. The A league thought it would become the dominant Summer sport.Tv ratings and attendances say differnt.
However going from 8 to 10 games next year has its problems. Its already squeezed into a 5 week window. Also think only more games with a NZ expansion.Unless WA gets a second side.

Lets hope that the feel good factor created by the Scorchers magnificent performance will filter through to the 2nd half of the Shield season and the team can make a late run for the final.

Wonder how Yorkshire's favourite son Geoffrey Boycott would have gone in BBL S58? He would have been playing for a draw without doubt :silly:
