The Big Bash League has started tonight.A Sydney Derby at GWS home ground Spotless Stadium.Game1 a sellout.Its not Cricket in the traditional sense but its pretty good entertainment..And now in season 6 its something to look forward to over the xmas ,new year period.
The fact that its a state based league and not an international league will create great rivalry over the coming years.The international players really lift the league.The West Indies players just love this game.Brisbane Heat really struggled last year even with Chris Lynn having a great series.Now they have the showman Brendon McCullum.
Point of interest..The Perth Scorchers have sold out there last 6 games at the Waca.Just wonder if a BBL Grand Final or Final could fill the new Burswood Stadium, ,63,000 fans.

Grassy home games are Fri 23rd DEC,,,Sun 1st January,,,,,Thur 5th Jan,,,Sat 14th January...

58 Shark we have lost Hoggy and our new marquee player is Ian Bell.Thats an interesting selection.Langer normally doesnt sign players who are a good chance of being called up by there country.England are having a shocker in India.Bell could be recalled for the shorter form of the game.

Doubt it mate, I think they have moved on from Bell and they have guys like Morgan and Roy to come into the one day side. Scorchers have been scorched by injuries and have now also lost Cartright to the test team, well done to him.

Mike also heard the fast bowler out for the whole season with a back injury,Coulter-Nile..Morgan was playing tonight for one of the Nsw sides.Just on Bell hes a pretty solid batsman who wont throw away his wicket like a lot do in this 20 over game.

Yes and also Paris reinjured himself as well. Not sure when Behrendorff will be back. Mitchell Johnson will have to play a bigger role than expected.

If he can get a few to hit the middle of the bat Mike.They will go over the fence he can hit the ball.Also he will be fresh bowling 4 really fast overs..

gtr, Bell's an interesting selection in as much as he's not really your big hitting 20/20 batsman. I read an article saying that JL likes him because he's an excellent team man that brings experience & knowledge while generating teamwork in the shed.

Someone told me today that Justin Langer is a Gym Junkie.And floggs the crap out of his players.Just wonder if the injuries are coming from that training.
