I reckon the Hawks by 30 points

Your joking Mike.. Hawthorn were lucky to get over the line v Geelong.
I suspect they have a few damaged players as well.
Freo are the form side of the moment especially with their win v Geelong at there home ground.. Didnt phase them.
Injuries list looking good so I pick them to win by at least 30 points plus.
Just to put Kennett in his place would be a nice reward.
Nothing against Hawthorn as a team so may the best man win.

Hawks by 50 to 60 points. normally i would favour the team with the better defence in a grand final but on this occasion i am going the other way. For hawthorn the task is quite simple because the dockers don't kick many goals. Hawthorn are the most attacking side in the comp and will not have any problem kicking a winning score - cannot say the same for the dockers, couple this with the fact that they will not be able to hold hawthorn either and it means the hawks by plenty, plenty!.

The reality is that the Shockers will get thrashed by Hawthorn to the tune of 63 points. The embarrassment will be listening to all their left wing, socialist ideology, pinko, alternate lifestyle hippy, conspiracy theory excuses.

I want the Hawks to win, but I think the weather conditions will suit Freo better. Heres hoping that I am wrong.

I reckon you right, Hawks will crack the game open by half time - most likely by about 20 points, if that happends Lyons defensive high pressure game will be spent, he is not a comeback from behind coach, they will have to be well in control by half time to be any chance. Even then I would expect the Hawks to roll over the top of them, the cats who man up very well on the hawks were 20 points up very late and should of cruised home, but the hawks did it easily.

the mcg simply does not suit the lyon style, if it breaks open and hawks start spreading early it could be messy.

the critical thing for the hawks will be getting goals on the score board early, if they blow it like they tend to do and not make the most of shots, this leave the door open big time for lyon, but if they nail the goals early, it could actually be a blow out 2007 style.

this does not even factor in the first up GF nerves that will most lkely get the better of the dockers, as it tends to do, but they will settle as the gaem goes on. More concerning is all the hype and hysteria building up surrounding them, this is seriously reaching a point where it is not good, the all adaage of keeping a lid on it was out the window 2 weeks ago. hawks on the other had are under the radar to a large degree. Cool heads been there done it before. freos build up and expectations are putting collingwoods to shame.

I always remember SFFC in 1979 and the huge build up and expectations, only to fall badly flat come the day.

We have seen first up teams win GFs Brisbane and Port did it, but the odds suggest first ups don't fare that well. Eagles, 91 and clubs after a long absence Melbourne 88, Swans in 96.

Thats not to say the dockers are no chance, as i always say in GF's well your out there so your a chance.
