I bet most pricktorians don’t even know Lathlain exists atm. They may be technically right, but it’s a crock of shite.

So if they asked you if it was OK to build something up the road from your house, you looked at the conditions and said yep, that's all good, and then the developers went and did the complete opposite, you would be OK with that? I guess its not your street so you would not give a rats arse about having your driveway blocked off, people double parked and thousands of people tramping over your yard.

Remember it might start with one game, but as the council says with three teams now operating it could end up a regular event, best to get it sorted out properly and be up front about their plans.

I have people parking on my verge at times when someone has a party, broken sprinklers, dog shit on the lawn....all the problems you get living in suburbia, but I suck it up. It’s what happens, but more than 2or 3 times a year. No big deal Baz, you must be easily annoyed.

Watching the game on Foxtel what a great spectacle. How the fuck anyone can complain about that is beyond me. Notice “Lathlain “ in big white letter stencilled on the wing. Did the Town of Victoria Park request that little local promo?

Been pissing down all day and they are playing dry weather footy. If there is a better playing surface for footy in this country I’d like to know about it.

58s what shithole do you live in? They way you’re carrying on about my postcode lately I thought you must live on Jutland Parade? :woohoo:

Nah mate, live next door to Col. :P Didn’t mean to put shit on Lathlain now that we’ve finished the Cody episode. In laws used to live within a good torp from Lathlain, so I spent a few match days there. Even went to a few cabaret nights at your club. Sheet, I’ve still got their old members badges. See, I’m not that anti social.

Give me a break, you mean after all that you didnt go down and put your money over the bar and partake in the "great spectacle" lol, btw loved the dead grass and mud on the outter banks near the goals.

It was hialrious when one of the commentators from Vic, refereed to the ground as a "country" ground.

The dudes around Moss Street used to complain a lot, I remember the ropes they used to put up around their verges in East Freo,

Actually read a copy of the Lease.

One of the clauses states the WCE could use the ground for events "ancillary"
to football and gives an examples as a "fair".

Could a inter club match be ancillary to football?

Probably end up in the courts.

Why would I go I don’t support either of those teams? So please explain to me how it’s ok, not hearing anyone complaining, we can close Canning hwy for a day for a bunch of mullet heads to follow some flatbed trucks playing AC/DC songs along the way and that’s ok but not a football match that drew a crowd of around 4000? Storm in a tea cup Baz.

I actually thought the standard was bloody ordinary DD, simple mistakes made, poor kicking, ball handling, decision making all from supposed 'elite full time professionals" or so the media "experts" keep informing all and sundry they are.
The Lathlain surface held up well as you say but so it should for the amount of money $40 million+ the 3 levels of Government have forked out on the whole precinct, although there must not have been any of that taxpayer money left over to returf the Orrong Rd end outer as it is still a sand patch that has now turned to a mudpatch!
Looked like they had cleaned up the place from Wednesday night a fair bit and put up temporary fencing up the back where the former fence was that was bowled over in the storm.

Got to agree, it was average stuff gave it the flick after a while.

As you say the $ spent on the surface it should of drained ok, the state of the outter at the Orrong Road end was shocking.

Also cannot work out why they crammed the two ovals so close in that pocket surely they could of had at least a walkway and some standing space in there rather than a fence.

what was the crowd 3K?

I didn’t mean the standard of footy was of a high standard I meant it looked no different to dry conditions, ie players could bounce the ball.

BH think I heard a bloke on radio this morning say your scratchie v WC was played on the outer oval while the girls trained on the main ground. That is ridiculous.

Was 4302 according to Leather Stops on Essendon thread Baz.
