There are fences down, signage down, fallen tree branches lying around and the netting behind the Orrong Rd end goals has been destroyed.
It would be fair to say they have a bit of a clean up to do first thing tomorrow before holding a game there.

More storms to come as well.

Do the eagles have a fully licensed club at Latho?

As he said, it’s got to be all about dollars. Why wouldn’t you want your suburb and one of its finest facilities splashed around the country in the papers? I bet most pricktorians don’t even know Lathlain exists atm. They may be technically right, but it’s a crock of shite.

So if they asked you if it was OK to build something up the road from your house, you looked at the conditions and said yep, that's all good, and then the developers went and did the complete opposite, you would be OK with that? I guess its not your street so you would not give a rats arse about having your driveway blocked off, people double parked and thousands of people tramping over your yard.

Remember it might start with one game, but as the council says with three teams now operating it could end up a regular event, best to get it sorted out properly and be up front about their plans.

Nimbyism at it’s best . Ya don’t like it put the For Sale sign up but I suspect you won’t when the Real Estate agent says actually prices haven’t jumped in Lathlain since the Eagles moved their home base here.

It’ll be a nice little earner for the Demons when we build new facilities that will have bar and food catering facilities behind glass looking out onto the ground. Kaching, kaching. I smell $$$$ :woohoo:

How can it be Not in my back yard when they were given an undertaking it wont happen..

Cant see any price jump on a house that has traffic flow issues, they will fall if anything.

Weird logic there DD....

Mate the only traffic flow issues are those caused by farking chicanes put in these beautiful wide streets by council after residents complain about traffic using “their street”. And you’re talking about 2 or 3 events a year that might draw a crowd of 5 or 6000. I think the poor darlings will survive these first world problems.

Part of my childhood growing up was spent in Raleigh St Carlisle, No 29 to be exact which was my Nanna and Pops place. Grew up there from around age 3 to 6 and spent my first year in school at Lathlain primary. Later spent most of my youth growing up in Morley but most weeks of the year would end up at my grandparents place especially when Perth was playing at Lathlain and it was common for our street to be lined with cars all the way to Archer street when a game was on, probably both sides of the street. And I don’t remember mum swearing and cussing when she had to drive in and reverse out of the driveway in the V8 Valiant with no power steering.

But football is part of life and brings a pulse to the place. FFS I don’t get people.

More rain, possible storms, pre-season game, live on TV, road closures,
Nup, I will stay home and watch it in comfort.
I doubt that crowd will exceed 5000. Will be 3000 or less IMO.

Could also be an opportunity for the locals to make a couple of dollars allowing people to park on their verge or driveway when these events occur!!!

Good suggestion Jim but I think that most street signs say no parking on verge.
If not, then the grey ghosts will have a field day.

Fair enough Smokey , they might have to clear out their driveways then in order to make a few bucks.

The verge may be council property but front lawns aren't.
