How can it be Not in my back yard when they were given an undertaking it wont happen..

Cant see any price jump on a house that has traffic flow issues, they will fall if anything.

Mate the only traffic flow issues are those caused by farking chicanes put in these beautiful wide streets by council after residents complain about traffic using “their street”. And you’re talking about 2 or 3 events a year that might draw a crowd of 5 or 6000. I think the poor darlings will survive these first world problems.

Part of my childhood growing up was spent in Raleigh St Carlisle, No 29 to be exact which was my Nanna and Pops place. Grew up there from around age 3 to 6 and spent my first year in school at Lathlain primary. Later spent most of my youth growing up in Morley but most weeks of the year would end up at my grandparents place especially when Perth was playing at Lathlain and it was common for our street to be lined with cars all the way to Archer street when a game was on, probably both sides of the street. And I don’t remember mum swearing and cussing when she had to drive in and reverse out of the driveway in the V8 Valiant with no power steering.

But football is part of life and brings a pulse to the place. FFS I don’t get people.

Mate everyone knew and expected WANFL Suburban footy back then , they knew 10K would turn up on a Saturday arvo, when you bought a place near Perth Oval East Freo or Latho it was a given you put up with all the crap that went with it.

Those days ended 30 years ago. People around the grounds just don't have big crowds all season.

Geez I remember the crap around Subi Oval and the residents there even when AFL was there, council restrictions on lights, noise , this that and all the rest, constant parking issues, which to my mind was a bloody good reason not to have the new stadium anywhere near subi.

Good point BC. However, road closures will be a problem for access to those lawns.

Always been signs around Lathlain saying No Parking Saturday or Sunday between 1pm - 5pm or something like that but I reckon the local council will rush out with bags over the signs saying No Stopping or No Parking so they can book'em Danno. Lathlain Park/Town of Victoria Park, Subiaco Oval/Subiaco Council MkII. Useless pricks just don't like seeing people having fun unless they are making a buck out of it.

One of the best features about Latho, was it large dedicated car park, at back of ground, pretty much only WAFL ground that had one, Latho being the newest WAFL ground was designed for cars I guess, not anymore all gone.

Honestly if you can't put up with cars parked in your street for a few hours on 2 or 3 occasions where the crowd might be abnormally high compared the the 9 home games Perth plays plus the WCE reserves games when they buy a home game then you need to be slapped into submission.

Yes that could be problematic smokey but I guess closures will be in the immediate vicinity of the ground itself so you could always park a block away on someone's lawn and walk around the corner.
