BC different reasons and circumstances but would suggest that a similar very good result to when Son Son Walters was sent back to Swans could have occurred if Newman was at Swans.

the EP supporters (those left) are only dealing with it their way. I don't blame them one bit, they are just hanging onto something they have loved their whole lives and that is predominantly the EP name & colours. People like me deal with it my way, others like the ones at Bassendean on Saturday deal with it their way. Ask yourself the question if the same thing happened at Swans. I know many would continue to follow them with reluctant loyalty & very gritted teeth. Either way its just a crappy time & I hope we one day can look back on it with disappointment. That day would mean we have got our club back.

Jardine I admire yourself and Grumps stance on this alignment bullshit but I will invite you to come sit next to me at the next Swans vs WART match to gauge for your own self the general opinion of those "EP" supporters who attend games almost in a malaise of where in fact most of "their players" actually come from! They simply wouldn't have a clue and really don't care at all as long as they win and couldn't care less that their club couldn't develop a photo let alone a footballer!

Rest assured BC I suspect we won't be making it a regular occurrence.

I know what you mean, but for them its almost like having a child who is just a rabble, but you are still there for them & its too hard to turn your back on them. Their ritualistic outlet is going to the football and I cant judge them for it. I can bet my left testicle they hate the alignment too, but accepting EP don't exist isn't an option. We all got handed a red hot branding iron, and we are all scared by it. We all deal with the recovery in different ways. Im not justifying anything either way, Im just seeing everything from both angles. Either way its shithouse for us EP people and the rest of the comps fans.

anyway, outside of all this regurgitated discussion Swans win was tremendous. Good on them & good luck to them.

What was the go with the free kick to Ames to kick the winning goal? The paper says he was the third man up in the ruck and was blocked for a run at it (twice). But as far as I'm aware you're allowed to block anyone at a ruck contest apart from the ruckmen themselves and the umpire often asks teams to nominate the ruckmen at ball ups. So either the umpires gifted him one, or was he the actual ruckman?

My understanding was he WAS the ruckman.

He was the ruckman, Blakely was playing kick behind the play but the East Perth bloke must have got confused and took him out as he thought Blakely was rucking against Johnson.
