BC, you practically hit the nail on the head, I don't see the benefit of the alignment when players from other clubs are forced to play for a rival club that they don't give a shit about and they would lack some serious enthusiasm and enjoyment which are the main ingredients to being a successful sportsman ???

East Perth actually had some good players running around in their reserves - 9 and 11 were far too good for reserves level, you would think that clown Turner would want more local kids in his league team but apparently not.

you gotta wonder how guys like Lycett are travelling. it doesn't look like he's going to get ahead of callum sinclair any time soon and would probably get a game with the likes of brisbane and carlton but is wallowing around at WART with no real prospects, no loyalty to EP, rocks up for a game and that's about it. you've also got to ask the question...wouldn't someone like Newman be better off at swans in familiar surroundings and with team mates he grew up with? i know 42 has strong views on this and must say, imo it beggars belief that the alignment would be a positive for someone like him.

when players play against their club of origin it makes a mockery of things.
Lycett is on 400k a year so he is getting more than Swans salary cap for their whole club and then you have clowns like Dean Turner asking for and getting more concessions..

East Perth are such a joke of a club, an eagles blokes kicks a goal and all these East Perth blokes run up and try to boof him, must be fun every week knowing that your only chance of winning a game is hanging on some bloke who has nothing to do with your club.
Murray Newman needs to pull his head in, running around trying to whack blokes and Davis taught him a lesson in the middle of the ground, at least Bennell played against his old team mates in the right spirit and had a smile and pats on the backs for his old mates.

The jokes that are those "EP" players is replicated by their imbecilic supporters who think that some of those forced to play for that mob with a gun to the head actually give a shit about playing for that farcical former club!

I don't think we can continue to play Ames in the ruck! At this stage of his career it will be taking a decent toll on his body and while it got us the win on Saturday and nearly the week before,it could actually cost us in the end of he goes down or is unable to back up.

agreed Mad Dog, he will get banged up quicker than playing full back.
not sure whether Blakely is carrying an injury but has looked a bit hobbled the last 2 weeks.
maybe Nuich needs to come back in as the back-up ruck.
on a slightly funny note - with Swooper, Rudy and Jukes all wanting to be the bloke getting the goal out the back they all nearly ran into each other a few times on Saturday, Rudy is very dangerous if we can get the turnover.

If we had a game this weekend he'd struggle to be fit!

On Saturday I was only able to watch the Colts and 1st half of Reserves.
Without doubt the most talented player I saw was Dylan Nelson! He's an out the back player which no doubt can frustrate coaches, supporters and probably at times his team mates but he makes up for that by kicking goals. He's now kicked 17:9 in his last 3 games and there wouldn't be many Ressies players that could vouch for that. Maybe Murray Couper back in the day?!
Anyway,he's one that I could cop carrying in the League team if he wasn't getting a kick in terms of developing his flaws because you can quite clearly see he's a better than average player. And the opposition would need a couple of quality small defenders to handle him and Jukes together.

On the colts, pretty scary for the rest of the comp that we still have a handful of boys to come back into that team. I was impressed by Jack Watsons game against Vic Country last Thursday!

Ressies-solid win without the boys who went up to play League. They'd have to fall in a hole to miss finals now!

the EP supporters (those left) are only dealing with it their way. I don't blame them one bit, they are just hanging onto something they have loved their whole lives and that is predominantly the EP name & colours. People like me deal with it my way, others like the ones at Bassendean on Saturday deal with it their way. Ask yourself the question if the same thing happened at Swans. I know many would continue to follow them with reluctant loyalty & very gritted teeth. Either way its just a crappy time & I hope we one day can look back on it with disappointment. That day would mean we have got our club back.

Jardine I go back to the 60s supporting Swans and I would have walked away if Swans had got in bed with the Eagles. Why would I walk? away It is pretty simple; Swans would have ceased to exist at that stage.

Those who have supported and continue support the host club alignment should hold their heads in shame and should be treated with due contempt. I make no apologies for my strident and obdurate opposition to the host club alignment.

One only has to look at J Bennell's very principled action by honouring his commitment to play with Swans before being forced to move to "East Perth".
