Larry: He has a good point? No one is interested in a ten team competition with 8 WAFL clubs and two AFL clubs. This little world of the alignment is the second best option by the Eagles. The WA clubs will target the alignment just like they targeted the stand alone clubs idea. You just told me you would vote for an alternative board at EP. What is going on? Have you changed your mind because 'chaddy' said something?

Stand alone teams was the best idea, end of story. I'm 73 I don't change my mind on anything I'm to old. You seem to be the voice of reason Chaddy, middle ground after the nutters are weeded out.

Hi Larry:
No WAFL football club has ever supported stand alone teams for the AFL clubs, including the East Perth football club. The vote was lost 9-0. I repeat the EP club has never supported a ten team competition involving the AFL clubs. This is myth you have created to justify stabbing the seven in the back on the alignment. Read carefully below.

Their players will continue to be spread across the nine WAFL clubs when not on AFL duty.
The resolve of nine WAFL clubs not to allow dedicated West Coast and Fremantle reserves teams into the state league competition from next year had reportedly been tested by a $1 million annual funding offer

Please note that this is the Swan Districts thread and the topic at the top quite clearly was the game in Bunbury between Swan Districts and East Perth/WART/Eagles Reserves/Devil Incarnate or whatever else you want to call them. This debate if you want to call it that, belongs on the East Perth or General WAFL thread. If you look back on the posts on this thread, there was a fantastic match report by Kingstone of the game on Saturday which has been completely buried under the sniping that we have seen today. I'm not saying don't talk about the alignment, but can you please take the discussion somewhere else because it has nothing to do with Swans.

Kingstone after the way Collingwood played on Sun v WCE, I reckon they could do with the likes of Simpson, Blight, Jetta and Howard.......though I'm not too sure anyone of them would of made a difference TBH!

I think our Black and Whites would have shown them a thing or two.....LOL
I just bleed Black and White and i'm sad to see any of them go down.

On another note, thinking about the so called dropping of those mentioned before, i wonder if it was for some AFL club in town to have a quiet look at a couple of players they might be interested in and couldn't be bothered to go down to Bunbury. I'm sure i saw Derek Hind ( head Collingwood recruiter ) on Sunday at the game.
I remember when Blight was selected for the State 18's and was mysteriously pulled from the squad at the last minute without explanation. Picked by Collingwood very early ....mmmmm Out of sight out of mind maybe......lol,, Ah conspiracy theories
Someone told me at the time Michael Walters was going to be chopped as well but the AFL Academy had something to say about it and he stayed.

The 4 above really did put in on the weekend. Alex Howard has come on leaps and bounds this year. I think he might be in with a rookie chance and if Blight keeps it up like his last couple of games he could disappear again as well. Both those 2 look the goods. They both kick the ball very very well. Long, accurate and very rarely turn it over. Blight has the added advantage that he has a hell of a leap on him and has all the smarts.
Doesn't Graham Jetta read the ball well ? He's like blowfly round a sheeps bum !! nothing distracts him. By the way he took the mark of the year in my book on Saturday as well. It was a blinder.

A lot of people look at the stats and make a decision on how good the player is based on the disposals they get. WRONG WRONG. How may of them were effective ? The 4 dropped i think suffer that problem. inaccurate kicking. Its killing us. Its those 1 %rs that count.

The hard bit now is PICK the Squad Line by line for the finals.
Anyone care to have a go ??

Don't see too many supporters from other clubs particularly Swans being supportive of EP's situation. That's the way of the world I guess givers and takers.

Larry I think what erk's many on here and in the wider football public and I'm no fan of either club, is the comparison that can be drawn between the desperate financial situations both EP & SD have had to face. If you think your club is badly in the red, don't look at Swans books they will frighten the bejesus out of you, but instead of throwing their hands up, admitting defeat and bending over for the first offer of financial support (takeover) Swans have bravely stuck to their guns, worked with what they have within the club player wise and are busting a gut to get themselves out of the shite and at the same time are sitting 3rd on the table and will play finals.

EP have for years fed off the tit of Bronte & AHG, therefore not working hard enough to broaden their sponsorship base. Rumour has it that Bronte didn't want much competition on the sponsorship front, so when he decided he and his conglomerate had put up enough dosh, EP were left hanging out in the breeze. Perhaps Bronte thought he better do something, so without much if any consultation he signed your beloved club up to become part of another conglomerate and in doing so consigned the club to ridicule and shame within the WAFL community. This is a real shame for what was the 2nd or 3rd most successful WAFL club with a once proud history.

A club that has consistently the best attendance numbers of any club should have been able to garner sufficient support to get themselves back on their feet without selling their souls.
