Like all clubs senior our days of big crowds and high revenue are gone. I respect your post it is well thought out although any rumours on sponsors, Bronte or anything else we will place in the unconfirmed basket. I was told our sponsorship revenue is number one in the WAFL. Without going to other clubs AGM's apart from Subiaco I think some dodgy accounting is going on. Swans really that bad is it I have heard Perth are really up against it behind the facade.

I just bleed Black and White and i'm sad to see any of them go down.

On another note, thinking about the so called dropping of those mentioned before, i wonder if it was for some AFL club in town to have a quiet look at a couple of players they might be interested in and couldn't be bothered to go down to Bunbury. I'm sure i saw Derek Hind ( head Collingwood recruiter ) on Sunday at the game.
I remember when Blight was selected for the State 18's and was mysteriously pulled from the squad at the last minute without explanation. Picked by Collingwood very early ....mmmmm Out of sight out of mind maybe......lol,, Ah conspiracy theories
Someone told me at the time Michael Walters was going to be chopped as well but the AFL Academy had something to say about it and he stayed.

The 4 above really did put in on the weekend. Alex Howard has come on leaps and bounds this year. I think he might be in with a rookie chance and if Blight keeps it up like his last couple of games he could disappear again as well. Both those 2 look the goods. They both kick the ball very very well. Long, accurate and very rarely turn it over. Blight has the added advantage that he has a hell of a leap on him and has all the smarts.
Doesn't Graham Jetta read the ball well ? He's like blowfly round a sheeps bum !! nothing distracts him. By the way he took the mark of the year in my book on Saturday as well. It was a blinder.

A lot of people look at the stats and make a decision on how good the player is based on the disposals they get. WRONG WRONG. How may of them were effective ? The 4 dropped i think suffer that problem. inaccurate kicking. Its killing us. Its those 1 %rs that count.

The hard bit now is PICK the Squad Line by line for the finals.
Anyone care to have a go ??

How wa Jetta's disposal on Saturday?

As a neutral, I thought Jettas disposal was terrible. My mate and I were wondering why he was the designated kicker - he stuffed up that many the crowd where I was were groaning whenever he got the ball. He barely kicked a ball forward, always looked to go backwards and sideways.

I sort of agree but not totally if you get my drift.
Jets hardly ever handballs , so he will always have the occasional stuff up pass. However its almost mandatory now for him to kick in and whack it straight on the oppositions chest at least once a game or put it out of bounds. From memory I don't think he did either, so you could say he was terrific.... LOL.
Yes he turned a few over, but so did most of the Swans boys in the 2nd half.
Either way the bloke is a real trier and gives his all. I'd have him in my team any day.

Cheers

I had a go at this Kingstone and this is my best 22 for the finals. If they can get this team on the park and playing with the same intensity as they were early in the season, I reckon Swans can be competitive in any final. I haven't gone as far as naming them line by line but just backs, mids and forwards. Here goes:

Backs: Ames, Simpson, Jetta, Notte, Howard, Ugle

Mids: N Blakely, Riggio, Boekhurst, Elari, Blight, Faulkner

Forwards: Davis, Geappan, Jukes, Cary, Rogers, Anderson

Interchange: Latch, C Blakely, J Manton, Casserley

I would name Dylan Harvey as emergency to be brought into the team for any game against East Perth who have so many big blokes.

What do you reckon?

As leaked earlier this year by the WAFL and reported in The West on the weekend, salary cap issues my prevent this line up ever taking the park again this year.

Yep, salary cap breaches will not happen at SDFC in 2014 nor are they in danger of happening contrary to what was leaked in the West. I am quite prepared to believe our CEO & President and take them for their word after asking them both this question directly in recent weeks.

The source at the heart of the story the West reported really should know better than to use his privileged position in WA footy to promote negative rumours about an opposition club who clearly were over-achieving in his eyes at the time of the article. For someone who has 'given' so much service to the WAFL over the years why he would promote this kind of crap during very difficult times for WAFL footy in general is just further confirmation of the two-faced nature of some of the blokes running footy in this state. Behind every negative article about the WAFL, make no mistake, there is an AFL agenda lurking in its shadows along with their foot soldiers.

Astro (or are you Clownsend), Clownsend was not told in no uncertain terms by both the President and Coach of Swans that there WAS and IS no foundation in FACT for Clownsend to assert that the players in question were dropped due to any other reason other than form.

Apart from the complete debunking of Clownsend's assertion; why would Swans drop three of the four who were only borderline league players last year to save money? If Clownsend has a scintilla of decency he would resign as a journalist (and I use the term loosely) and find a job which he is more capable of doing competently.

I would suggest the only job Clownsend would be qualified to do would be to pick up the manure at Harding's pacing stables 42!

For Swans' supporters apparently Faulkner had concussion after a clash in the middle in the ressies' game on Sunday.

Clownsend you better take note as well in case you try to assert that Faulkner's potential absence from the league team on Saturday is due to your fantasised salary cap breaches.
