We certainly need all members and supporters to continue to support the club to their fullest extent;
Congratulations also to Tallan Ames and Tony Notte - our captain and vice-captain for the 2014 season.
Too right mate, great to read a sensible and informed post! Carn the Ducks!!
As I had posted last week Geappen has committed to playing the 2014 season at Swans. He was at training the night of the AGM. As was the likes of Pratty and Cass. Robbo it was said was a 50-50 proposition at the moment - will make a decision within the next week or two. Roach is going back to Melbourne. Hildebrandt and Twomey are off to Subi. Twomey's decision came down to him considering that we would not be competitive this year. Hams has moved down to Busselton but he has been seen and will continue to be seen at Swans during the season. Harding's contract has been extended to the 2015 season - which is a strong indicator that the board think that we are going in the right direction with respect to our focus on the local players.
Harding addressed the AGM and suggested that in his opinion we will be far more competitve than what some people think. He re-iterated the need for all of us to get behind the club with all the support we are able to give. Coming out of the meeting I fell more optimistic than I felt before the meeting. I still think there will be some hard times; but if you are a longterm Swans' supporter that would not be an unique or unprecedented situation. Harding was asked about some younger players who will be regular league players this year. He mentioned the likes of Broad who will be far better for the experience of 2013, players like Rogers, Blight, Latch will be regular league players this season. Also both the Blakeley boys. He mentioned some others as well. As I said from his perspective it is not all doom and gloom. See more of Harding's views at:

Trent Cooper will be our colts' coach this year and Andrew Peuyn will continue as Reserves' coach. Guys like Mark Piani, John Laurito and Travis Edmonds wll continue in their various coaching roles. As will Geappen as forwards' coach (with assistance of Trent Cooper on game day.
It was asked why we haven't recruited some players and whilst the answer involved a little spin, and I believe may have been influenced to a certain extent by our current financial situation, it was stated that the board and coaching staff have faith in our players to be more than competitive this year.
As I mentioned in my earlier post we are certainly not flush with funds but we have had all our major sponsors already committing to our club and with the suport of the normal WAFC financial support our future is not in doubt.
One other point to make is that the entire club from the board, coaching staff, particularly the players and members and supporters HATE the club alignment and with that in mind they would especially like a large number of Swans' supporters to come to the matches against Peel and the club formerly known as East Perth.
There are some pre-season matches coming up in the next few weeks - please check the Swans site or ring Swans to get the times and dates - all our scratch matches will be at Basso.
Hopefully, I have covered most of the major points from the meeting - I didn't take notes so this is from memory and my apologies if I have forgotten anything.
Finally, as a very longtime Swans' supporter and member can I urge all Swans' supporters to get behind our club, players and board this year to ensure that we have a good 2014 season. To the other WAFL supporters and members of other clubs I also hope that they commit to their respective clubs and that we have some good crowds at the WAFL matches this season.
