Barney the coverage of WAFL by both the Sunday Times and the West Australian is a bit of a joke IMO. Pre Game does a decent job with a two page spread most Fridays. Saturday's paper should have a two page spread as well but they don't. As for The Sunday Times well it's hardly worth reading their match reports sometimes. The "PICK ME" section of AFL players that played in the WAFL was generally bigger than the match reports.

At the bottom of the article they say that Kyle Reimers has left Perth and Kade Lang and Andrew Ruck are new additions to the coaching group. Most people knew that info about Perth back in November. It's almost like oh we better put that in as well just to make sure we are covering all the clubs, even though the information is two months old.

It's not just these two newspapers though, a lot of WAFL clubs don't do themselves any favours with regards to promotion and getting news about there clubs out there whether it is via there website or facebook or twitter accounts. They then play the poor us card.

Looking into a couple of clubs from the eastern states web page, facebook or twitter accounts, they have been very active in the offseason with regards to keeping members updated about player comings and goings, events, memberships etc...

This is something that I think ALL WAFL clubs need to have a good look at. It's something that is pretty easy to fix and gets information regarding your club out there rather than keeping members/supporters in the lurch.

Perth and Swans rumour about a merger is getting much more believable.

doubt Perth would want Swans debt, it would have to be paid out by the WAFC..
we have already lost 2 clubs this year, be interesting to see what the comp will look like in 5 years..

totally hearing you Mr AFL......all EF website does is give their fans a run down of whose birthday it is......christ all us fans want to know is who's coming and going and howz training going and who to look out for.....a coaches perspective perhaps.....

SD coach Harding is very good at writing a regular report, whilst the news may not be overly fantastic to hear.....at least the SD fans appetites are getting fulfilled some what!

South site is poor as well. May get a story once a week??

Swans are pretty good at updating the website, and it is profitable apparently.

Perth are committed to 2 things.
1. A new 20 year lease at Lathlain.
2. An independent future.
As no 3 on the healthy clubs list why would be thinking anything else after 15 years of hard toil to turn things around.

Very much doubt the faithful Swan tribe will tolerate a merger either DF. We might be in for hard times for a while but we will survive

Let's hope so for the competitions sake.
Although I have some reservations about the WAFL's helping hand of the next troubled Club.
