"Didn’t help a few ex directors couldn’t get the books right since then and then blame everyone else for their own errors"
And to whom you refer.

I just heard a bookkeeper had to clean up the mess TRSM. I was told you wouldn’t even need glasses to work out simple errors that were overlooked. Don’t shoot the messenger laddy.

Seriously you have lost me here. What period and what mess are you talking about. Swans have have had 4 bookkeepers since Rochelle Parker in 2011.

Dirty Weekender wrote: After a long lay off I thought I’d give WAFL footy another chance yesterday. It’s an interesting year to say the least , like no other so I do not want to compare things to previous years. I will simply make 3 major points here.
1. The standard of footy yesterday was absolute gobshite. In saying that I’m willing to accept unusual circumstances . What I can’t accept is that there was not one footballer on the ground who I honestly can say on the standard produced yesterday I would pay to watch. Where has the flare and daring gone from our game. FFS in a season like no other ever, please just let them go for it. I can’t even be annoyed by Aiden Clarke’s unfortunate slip and then silly 50. At least he went for it when the game was on the line only to lose his feet. Better to die trying than wonder tomorrow .
2. Tyler Keitel ... absolutely shits me...yes he took a couple of strong marks - given. Aside from that how effing touched is the bloke, plays lazy only for SD players to completely fucking hand the ball up leaving him in attacking goal scoring/assist positions and helps win the game from his own laziness, effing shits me I tell ya. Not only that seeing young kids dressed in WP #37 guernseys like he’s a genuine footy god...seriously Andy Holmes was harder!
3. Ronnie Skender on the WP magnet board provided a simple reminder as to how many mistakes SD has made over the years. Should be a 200 game premiership ruckman at SD ...instead it’s at WP . Along with Christian Kelly 2 of the dumbest calls the hierarchy at SD have ever made in my lifetime and they still comes back to haunt us in 2020 .

Apart from that, hello fellas, been quite a while since I gave a flying f..k. Demise of the AFL might have just reinvigorated me  :silly:

Good to have you back DW, sorry the club put up such a shit show yet again when you have made the effort to come down to see if they have eventually improved 3 years on.

DW I too welcome you back. Perhaps the number 37 jumpers are to do with Mifka?

Success Hill wrote: Congrats to WP on the win. Obviously disappointed by the result, but despite some clangers in the backline in the last I thought the defence played as best they could. In the second quarter the ball was in WP's forward for what seemed an eternity, yet at half time WP had only three scoring shots total for the game. At three-quarter time that total had increased by just two. We jump up and down about dumb football by Reidy and Waite, but they make mistakes because the avenue down the ground is always blocked. Swans’ biggest problem - and it has for seasons - is their inability to win the loose ball from packs and at stoppages. Defenders will always switch to the others side when there is a chance of a loose player. Turner was quiet – except for the third quarter – but Anderson might fix this fault of our inability to secure the loose ball. Our defenders are put under extreme pressure – and thus eventually make mistakes. Noble – again – has to move so far from goal to get the football that he eliminates his contribution as an effective forward. I do not condone kicking across the ground – they show they do not have the skill and it takes the boundary out of play as a defensive weapon – but the problem yesterday was further up the ground with our usually dearth of winning the football off the pack.

On a side note, it was good seeing Swan42 there yesterday after a season’s hiatus.

Theres a blast from the past, was he Mr Positive as usual?

Turner was the only player we had with 10+ possessions at half time - most others had only had 4-6 touches - notte 0 at that stage...amazing to think we were still in the game considering lack of ball we had so you have a good point about the backline.

As for the inability to win loose ball around packs and stoppages we had this fella called Faulkner a couple of seasons back. His disposal wasn’t great but winning pack ball was his thing. Kinda player we need now with all the kids around

Something I picked up on over the weekend, a lot of former swans boys still kicking around in Amateurs.

Faulkner, Blight, Ellard at Swan Valley, Burnham, Ross, Daniels, Hinder at Bassendean,G Jetta, Wolfenden, Kirkup at High Wycombe, Nuich and Whitsed at Swans Ath. Be nice to still have a few of them at the club!

You could also throw in names like- W.Wilson, D.Smith, Hackett, Bill, G.Wilson etc who were there only last season and had more upside than those other boys you have listed Danger.
