This boring as batshit defensive crap style has got us nowhere since and it is and will be driving life long supporters away from attending!

Talent helps! Which brings me back to my point about providing the players with a game style that suits the squad but is also entertaining win, lose or draw.

Something else I might add... Swans have been renowned for indigenous talent over the years which has brought plenty of fair and excitement but sadly that is something currently missing from the club. The Narkles,Ugles,Wares,Penny’s etc of 80’s/90’s,The Garth Taylor’s,Jetta of the 2000’s and then of course our most current in Walters,Yarran,Garlett’s,Wilson,Ansey,Newman,Stewart,Cameron brothers and Hinder?

Yes very true Danger.
We have always had a proud history of producing indigenous talent and still had the likes of Wilson, Hackett, Stewart, Hinder etc in the last year or 2 but not many currently which is sad.

unless we win it from the middle we can’t score, WP set up well to slow us down and we either do 50 handballs in a row or kick it to the opposition.
And unless we have a Jeff Garlett or Charlie Cameron up forward fo win a foot race back to goal, leave someone who can take a mark inside 50 and kick it long to them, it’s brainless football.
Get some pace in the forward line

It is obvious to me this piss poor, defensive minded, low scoring, backwards, sideways, wishy washy coaching "strategy" is being implemented through our entire playing squad from Colts to League and probably Futures as well and if it continues on I wont be and thus end 40 years continuance of attending SD games!
It has got to the stage where I would rather be doing something else with my Saturday afternoons if all we are only going to produce is a pathetic 1.2 in 3 quarters of football for most weeks again![/quote

yep, went along with my dad yesterday,a passionate swans man born and bred in Bassendean,he won’t be back.

You blokes are the best. BH stomps around basso cursing every day yet hangs his hat on 2010 when the club gutted itself by recruiting beyond its means. We had a great chance in 2010 through recruiting BH and have been in debt since. Didn’t help a few ex directors couldn’t get the books right since then and then blame everyone else for their own errors. The club is on its feet and financially gets to recruit a couple of blokes and you blokes want silverware today. Takes time so relax and let it build. You blokes have short memories, beforw 2010 we recruited krak, Davis, colly, twomey, Geappen, Riggio , Robinson, spanderman plus Hinkley and Hansen! After all that we don’t win without a 16 year old kid who kicks 4! Easy to score when you recruit that hard. Plus we got cass and Spencer back that year.

Wake up to yourselves and support your club and stop throwing the toys out of the cot like 12 year olds. I’d rather drink cans in the swans bat without you to be honest. And if you have a beef at the club TRSM, wander into a public forum and have your say and you’ll quickly see how the majority view your involvement. Love your passion but you are the biggest sniper that swans have. Support your club lads. Period.

After a long lay off I thought I’d give WAFL footy another chance yesterday. It’s an interesting year to say the least , like no other so I do not want to compare things to previous years. I will simply make 3 major points here.
1. The standard of footy yesterday was absolute gobshite. In saying that I’m willing to accept unusual circumstances . What I can’t accept is that there was not one footballer on the ground who I honestly can say on the standard produced yesterday I would pay to watch. Where has the flare and daring gone from our game. FFS in a season like no other ever, please just let them go for it. I can’t even be annoyed by Aiden Clarke’s unfortunate slip and then silly 50. At least he went for it when the game was on the line only to lose his feet. Better to die trying than wonder tomorrow .
2. Tyler Keitel ... absolutely shits me...yes he took a couple of strong marks - given. Aside from that how effing touched is the bloke, plays lazy only for SD players to completely fucking hand the ball up leaving him in attacking goal scoring/assist positions and helps win the game from his own laziness, effing shits me I tell ya. Not only that seeing young kids dressed in WP #37 guernseys like he’s a genuine footy god...seriously Andy Holmes was harder!
3. Ronnie Skender on the WP magnet board provided a simple reminder as to how many mistakes SD has made over the years. Should be a 200 game premiership ruckman at SD ...instead it’s at WP . Along with Christian Kelly 2 of the dumbest calls the hierarchy at SD have ever made in my lifetime and they still comes back to haunt us in 2020 .

Apart from that, hello fellas, been quite a while since I gave a flying f..k. Demise of the AFL might have just reinvigorated me  :silly:

Good to have you back DW, good post !
Marley - I’m not expecting us to win the flag, I just want a game plan that makes the most of our strengths - 3 decent tall forwards so why is our game plan all about posssesions.
Also that Waite bloke produced the softest football I can remember seeing at Swans, it’s not good enough
