why is WA playing yet again with no spinner? Are the depths of slow bowling that bad in state cricket?

Marsh and Bancroft fail again....thank god for young Cam Green and Philippe.

Green just notched up another 100...what a talent this kid is.

Updating Bancrofts stats, he now has 158 at an average of 14.4.
Good to see Whiteman get a 50 although he along with Phillippe would be frustrated that they couldn't convert.

I have always been of the belief that Green is a bowling all rounder but his season so far with the bat (3 Centuries in the SS) plus being unable to bowl with his back issues has me rethinking that now.

It seems as long as they are patient with him over the next 18 months, allowing his back to get better he will be the bowling all rounder Australia has cared for years. I would definitely take him to the away series in Bangladesh, even if he doesn't play just so he learns from being around the squad

It starts with the diabolical quality of wickets produced for premier cricket in this state. What hope of unearthing anything resembling a spinner when you're asked to bowl on lifeless crap. Brainless captains don't help as well, particularly for leggies.

Totally agree PH...get Green on the plane to Bangladesh, in and around the test squad....rather Green in the squad over Wade TBH. Be great if the likes of Green, Pucovski and Phillippe get some international cricket under their belt before the next Ashes series..all three definitely are the future of Aust cricket
