Shaun Marsh and Adam Voges believe that the pitch is dangerous and the match should be abandoned. If this happens apparently the teams share the points which is in my opinion ridiculous. Victoria have failed to produce a pitch suitable for first class cricket and therefore should forfeit with WA getting the outright points. Shaun Marsh had to do a concussion test and depending on the result he may not be able to take any further part in the game.
It is an absolute disgrace for one of the premier sports stadium in the country and to be honest someone needs to lose their job over this.

Interestingly, the curator of this pitch (Matt Page) is the same guy who was running the show at the WACA when at least 1 of the "Grand Canyon" pitches were served up there.

But it seems he was promoted.

Having a look at the footage its easy to see why they've abandoned the match.
Big difference between inconsistent bounce and what the WA batsmen were facing in the second session yesterday.

This bit of information (from the West online) gives the reason the game was correctly abandoned:

Too much moisture in the drop-in wicket led to divots, which hardened under the sun, creating uneven bounce and danger for the batsmen.

Lets hope the Boxing day test is played on a flat slow wicket & becomes dull & boring.About time the wicket had some uneven life..

WA should have declared and put the Victorians in on the pitch, a tatic employed by captains in many matches during the 'wet pitch' era. Wet pitches would also encourage more spin bowlling because the run ups of the seam bowllers would be wet. I would ban the bloody supper soopa thing in first-class and test matches. The game should have been played to the end. What is wrong with the principle of whom ever side batted best on a difficult pitch, winning the match?

You can still report the Vics for the pitch

AR both Shaun Marsh and Handscomb agreed that the pitch was too dangerous to play on and to continue on it would have constituted an unacceptable risk to player safety. They are the guys who have to go out and face the music and I am happy to accept what they say. Wet wickets are from an era long ago

Lets just ban the short pitched bowling as it is dull & boring to watch.
