Gee what an innings by Josh Phillipe tonight. The Scorchers management must cringe every time they see him bat like that because he was on their list as a reserve batsman but obviously they thought that guys like Bosisto, Klinger and Cartwright would do a better job?!

Maybe we should ask why they left. Not why others stayed.

LS...Stoinis played for Victoria for a fair few years, thus can see why he is with the Stars......Short was given a go by Hobart at a time when JL and the Scorchers were pretty successful, either winning or finishing second in the BBL.....good to see Short repaying Hobart for giving him a bash in the Big Bash....as for Phillippe....only a youngster and probably thought with Klinger, Marsh etc in the mix he would be a long time waiting for a gig.....can't see Qadir getting offloaded just yet....

Another putrid display by the Scorchers apart from S.Marsh 96no.
Not one Yorker bowled yet so far just simply moronic bowling.

Shaun Marsh's brilliant 96 looks like it is going to be wasted. Awful bowling and fielding performance by the Scorchers. Absolute short rubbish by every bowler and as for Qadir, words fail me. Ferguson has batted well but he has been given some gifts.

Credit to Ferguson he played brilliantly but fair dinkum I have never seen such a brainless bowling performance by the Scorchers bowlers with the notable exception of Kelly who showed what a bit of line and length could do. They should have been able to defend 182. The fielding was also very shoddy. There seemed to be no plan out there which has to reflect also on the coaching staff as well as the players.

Spot on Mike you really have to wonder about the intelligence of the bowlers or if they are just following out orders from those in control?
One thing is for sure WA cricket has only ever succeeded under tough uncompromising intelligent Captains over our proud history (Lock, Inverarity, Wood, Moody) and I am not sure M.Marsh is the answer!

Voges must be under some pressure as we've not exactly gone forward since he took over in all forms Tonight N C-N was far too short, I recon I could smack Qadir around the park and the bowling in general was crap with the exception of Kelly and maybe the Dorff. Agree whole heartedly we need to target the likes of Philippe, Short and Stoinis for next year..

BH The final indignity for Mitch was the first ball of the last over when for reasons best known to himself he was standing 10 metres inside the rope and watched a shot from Ferguson sail over his head which he probably would have caught if he had been standing on the boundary line. If this had happened, the Thunder would have needed 7 runs off 5 balls with two new batters at the crease. Might have tightened it up a bit you never know. I thought the killer decision though was to give Qadir a 2nd over in the middle period when Ferguson was teeing off on him.

You really have to wonder about those who made the decision to appoint M.Marsh as Captain and to a lesser extent Voges as Coach (straight from playing without doing a coaching apprenticeship).
It reeks the same as when Damien Martyn was appointed back in the 90s!
