Obviously you think EF will just sit back and wait for Cody to join you for pre-season in November, fresh from a year out of the game. I wouldn't count on that. He will realise that you strung him along with promises you couldn't keep, but weren't prepared to make a serious offer. Presumably you were prepared to hope that arbitration went your way and you would get him cheap. Now that it hasn't, you need to make a serious offer. Remember O'Brien was refused a transfer from Peel (hmm, EF chasing a contracted player from an historically weaker club) and lost at arbitration but the two teams reached agreement after that. Now you know $20k and a couple of hacks won't cut it. Got anything else?

i think you are jumping to conclusions again. All i said is i think Mineral Resources won't see Leggett again - except maybe in an opposition jumper at some point down the track.

Cody has got rocks in his head if he would sit out a year of football in his prime to play for your rabble of a club.

as for Cody....well one Cody got his wish to get out of MRP..the other didn't.....one Cody is grinning the other not as much....life stops for no man's two bob watch....can't wait for that Perth v EF match in May....gonna be great craic..

I guess with wins so few and far between over the last 40 years at Mineral Resources you have to make the most of them when they do come and bask in that warm afterglow while you can. After all an angry and dark cloud never seems that far away.

Does seem though that in your exuberance to revel in this one you have failed to notice it is a hollow victory. Next to nothing has been gained as the player left months ago. You may have saved face but there was little left of that to save after years and decades of being an abject failure and last seasons last gasp choke.

Today’s West says Leggett is returning to Perth, my mail is that’s not true.

I find it strange that Perth have allowed Ninyette to go to SF but have played hardball with Leggett.

If a player has such an issue with a club he’s played 60 odd games with and is contracted but still takes it all the way to arbitration- I think it’s pretty clear he doesn’t want to be there and he has reasons.

Now the Perth jokers want to see him off Half Back!! Buffalo coaching Perth as well??

Suggest you go and buy Saturdays West. Leggett is staying put and will return to the club and honour his contract. He’ll be suiting up in red and black at Mineral Resources Park and hopefully he comes to his senses and dumps that useless manager that EF probably set him up with and puts pen ? to paper and signs on for another 2 or 3 years.

Or has he already signed a contract to play for your lot beyond this year? All will be revealed but if he has then decides he wants to stay that will end up another post season disaster.

You are the big losers, massive losers because you put so much focus into this you took your eye off the ball and gained next to fuck all in terms if recruiting, meanwhile my club got on with the job, business as usual and a very active off season bringing in a number of players with experience who were available and ELIGIBLE for a transfer and while granting a couple of players their wish to seek further opportunities elsewhere without the drama because they were either eligible for a transfer or in the NOT REQUIRED category.

Clearly Perth Football Club wins hands down. Your club needs to get that massive chip off it’s shoulder.
