You'll need to ask Piani why he made the shift between clubs. In 2002 East Fremantle finished fourth and Swans had a dreadful season finishing with the wooden spoon. Swans themselves had a disastrous season in 2002 as chronic financial troubles, which had plagued the club for almost a decade were combined with disastrous results on the field. The black and whites only won one game that season in the seniors and did little better in the lower grades.

Perhaps he left Swans because of money, lack of success etc. In 2003 Swans completed a complete turn around when they finished 5th and East Fremantle finished 7th. Perhaps he left East Freo to return to Swans because he saw the turnaround in their fortunes, missed his mates, work closer to Bassendean. Who knows?

Interesting coincidence....Spalding coached EF in 2002, Paini left EF wanting to go to SD in 2003.....

Didn’t Theo Adams come over to the Sharks on a two year deal from the Bulldogs, won the Lynn Medal but then said he wanted to break his contract and go back to the puppies? Might be wrong, but thought he wanted to play with his brother at Souths.

Theo Adams played 40 games for the Sharks in 2007 and 2008 on a two year deal. He won the Lynn Medal in 2007. At the end of the contract he returned to Souths, stating as you said he wanted to play with his brother. He played a total of 149 WAFL league games.

Retired soon after with a heart condition from memory.....pretty sure during that Dunbar debacle SF picked up Miller, Malseed and Tony Bourke(Vic ruckman)...anyone else?....didn't Miller go because Dunbar had a go at him regarding wearing the wrong pair of shorts at training one day?..Dunbar set the club back many a year....I remember him saying he was the one who helped the likes of Swallow, Ryder, Kennedy and Clark get drafted during his reign....the latter 3 all top ten picks in the same draft....Woewodin did well to get the train wreck back on track, Stavros peaked with that Foxtel and WAFL GF appearances and that goal kicking disaster v Subi in the prelim.....only for the wheels to fall off again with some in-house mutiny and Wiley ineptness....

2002 is a curiosity. We lose our last 4 H&A games that season and finish in 4th spot. Lose the the 1st semi to the invoice dodgers season over. 2003 season rolls around and we lose the first 6 games. This is the start of what surely is the clubs darkest period as first ever wooden spoons follow and a sustained period out of the finals. Am I right in saying it was under the guidance of Malaxos that we once again played September football?

I think you will find that East Fremantle played in the 2010 finals under Shane Woewodin. Malaxos coached the EFFC Colts premiership side that year.

Funny how you keep referring back to Dunbar disaster, Wiley ineptness yet give Monaghan a free pass for a truly inept 2019 season. I suppose that’s Wiley’s fault too? You better be praying the next couple of years Bubblo Bill can at least match Wiley’s 9 win 11 loss, 94.54% 6th place season in his first year in 2016. No talk of Wiley’s ineptness then was there?

I would agree to some extent with you on Wiley. The rot had set in and Wiley despite best intentions was not up to turning things around. Disagree with you on Monaghan last season was a big improvement. As a paid up member and someone who attends week in week out I was quite impressed and feel we made a huge leap forward. Wait until the end of this season and we all will be in a better position to judge. Your concern for the plight of the EFFC is appreciated. On the flip side I am a little worried for your mob. 4 wins from the last 13 games and a massive last round choke against battlers Peel when a finals berth was up for grabs is concerning - are we about to see a slide back down the ladder at Mineral Resources?

Lol here you are bagging us for going down by 3 points to a side that won 2 more games than your mob. 3.7 in the first game, scoreless in the first qtr in round 2, I could go on. You've really set the bar high at The Dump.
