Very professional outfit?
Obviously not in the development stakes as you wouldn't need to-
-recruit the majority of your players from elsewhere
-wouldn't have a Colts side that sits stone motherless
-would have more than 1 player chosen in the State 18s squad of 50 players

The last 2 points of which money can't buy!

There are apparently a plethora of gems in the $ubi zone just ask LH but his calls fell on deaf ears ..seems that club would rather take the easy option of cherry picking from other clubs much like their near neighbours!

Less effort in buying ready made players than developing them!
Steve Armstrong left because they didn't give 2 shits about developing their zone!

of course they would never swap, and in the past their zone was not too good either. The simple fact is that both P and EP have had weak zones for forty years; Subi for around the last decade or so.

About foreign players -- SD had plenty in the early to mid 80s

Neesham
Melrose
Ware
Kenney
Baker
Blackerby
Marshall
Johns
Kimberley
Kevin Taylor
Kim Hetherington
Leigh Bretnton
Tony Solin

which is quite a few players form other clubs, I would have thought. I am not complaining about it, I am just pointing it out: Swans brought in players to win premierships.

Quite similar to what Subiaco are doing today.
and before you rattle on about the Eagles seats at Subi Oval, Swans had a bar from about 1945; Subi never had a bar until the late 70s because the WAFL of the day, one assumes tacitly with the support of the other clubs, refused to allow it. I don't think that was too equal either.

Always worth a laugh when DuckHeads start taking up their development efforts in their junior zone. All clubs put great time and effort into their junior zones especially Subiaco, we can't sit back and take it for granted like Swans do and rely on the massive participation numbers. Our country Zones also require a lot of commitment, it's probably quite easy for Swans to get a kid up from Bunbury to train or try out, emagine the effort required to get a kid to travel 700+ km up from Eaperence or Kal

Careful Outer,do not say anything negative about Bogandean, you may be asked to give an unreserved and fully substantiated apology for upsetting the delicate feelings of those little darlings who live in the land where everything is just hunky dory, don't you know?

And was Subiaco compensated for that by the WANFL due to the ground being negotiated (& agreed with by the SFC) as the showpiece official WA ground for Interstate matches & Finals series ??????
