Well said Seagull.

To think it looked like a two horse race half way through the season with Swans and cheating scum sitting pretty but Subiaco kept getting warmer. I watched them flog Swannies late in the year and thought to myself "Jeez these guys could really take it out this year" such was the way the guys were playing. It reminded me of a few years ago when nobody could touch Subiaco on the field.

Drink up and enjoy your summer because your team has earnt it.

the two blokes i'm really happy for are McDougall and Stockley. If both had stayed at Perth and WP respectively then I doubt they'd have experienced a premiership. Stockley in particular is a good news story...couldn't overtake Keunen at WP, changes clubs and wins a flag in his first year....fantastic effort. and I wonder the chances of the Deluca's being drafted? both hard at it with a fair bit of skill thrown in the mix as well.

look...i think you're probably right in your observations anchor but Butler and Mcginnity probably don't neatly fit into it as they are experienced AFL footballers who have spent most of the year at WCE. aside from those two as tey dont make or break EP and above and beyond the skill levels of the aligned guys, you also have to take into consideration that they benefit from being full time professional footballers with all the associated support from full time coaches, sport scientists, world class recovery facilities and so on playing against semi professional part timers who all work for a living doing something other than football. so yes, i take your point that the aligned guys are probably where they should be at the moment i.e. playing WAFL but i suggest thats a simplistic view and there's more to it than that.

I know the WAFL isn't what it was but the feeling and the celebrations in the club after the game were as passionate as any of the premierships.

Those players have made a lot of people very happy.

You won't have an arguement from anyone on here about the realative abilities of some of the Eagles players, see BC's comment below. The issue is that they should not be in a West Australian competition. The WCE signed an agreement on the allocation of players in 1987, and they have dishonoured it. Just remember too, that the vote may have been different in 1986 if the clubs thought they were losing complete access to their own players; and worse still, had to play against them.

Got no time for the Eagles anymore Ark Royal.Aside from your pertinent comments,it is them who have been primaringly pushing this alignment crap.They also were behind the demise of the state of origin games by withholding some of the state's best players for their own selfish reasons under the ruse that they were injured.They won their first two flags using primaringly locals from Subi,SF,EF and Claremont and this is how they repay the local clubs. What a selfish club they have become.
