I see Ainsworth is on our list which happens automatically when an AFL guy is delisted but hopefully he does come back to us.  According to Subi's FB page, Harry Marsh has re-signed with Subi for another year which is great news given the drums were beating he was going to East Freo and Ajang Ajang has come across from the ferals apparently.  No news of retirements so watch this space I guess.

Great to hear Harry is going around again, he's had a great season and was second only to Clark during the finals.
Ajang Ajang has the potential to be a real asset for us, finally a real ruckman with some league experience, he has a huge upside if he can fit in and take onboard the way the club goes about footy and preparation. He was touted as a possible AFL late pick last year or 2 but finished the year in the EP ressies, given big Jones was playing so well in the league he wasn't getting much of a look in. If he can show some consistent form next year and Dela decides to go around again, it would free Dela up to play purely as a mid as he was getting beaten up most weeks in the ruck as we saw Higgins do to such good effect in the GF, if it was my choice I'd play him as a tall wingman, would be so hard to match up on.

Would be surprised if Ainsworth went anywhere else, the family are solid Subi people. Given Clark looks like being drafted, he slips straight into the midfield group.

Like I always say, Subi never lose a required player to a rival club. ( and please don't say Chris Bryan and some no name now at EP were required players. A player you would rather keep all things being equal is a different thing to a required player.) Nor do Subi ever lose a bidding war a rival club. I rather doubt that they would have chased Graham all that hard - perhaps they knew better than us what a flake he was. That said, I'm not that bothered to miss Ajang, not that Perth will recruit anyone better.

I will have to learn to like Ajang. My mind still has the vision of his cowardly head punch in the reserves GF I can’t unsee

Yes we did get the Big Angus Freeze but did $ubiaco pursue him? Couldn’t get out of Lathlain quick enough after one season. I know our club went hard after the other three.

I was thinking about the 2022 final ladder the other day and this has convinced me that my thoughts were right.
1.   Subiaco

2 .  The rest
Oh to have unlimited funds and brown paper bags, lucky Subi.  Looks like another ho hum season coming up.

We should have learnt by now to never get into a bidding war against Subi. Unless our objective is to force them to pay a higher price, which they would barely notice. Surely our club is not so naive as to think we can outbid Subi?

58, this is the modern WAFL The inequality is deeply entrenched. Next season will be the usual top 4. EF, SD, EP and maybe Peel will battle for 5th. Perth are a monty for the wooden spoon. My interest in the WAFL is waning every year. It took the most compromised season since WWII for my club to generate any excitement, but now things are back to normal and will stay that way for the foreseeable future.

IF Greg Clark gets drafted (and I’ve got this horrible feeling that he won’t) , Brayden Ainsworth doesn’t even come close to replacing him. Would he even be a certainty for Subis 22? He’d certainly be the skinniest bloke in the side.
