I’m really hoping AFL recruiters switch their brains on and draft Greg Clark, because he deserves it, and it will weaken Subi a little for next season. Would be nice to see Jack Mayo get another shot as well.

I couldn't agree more ToOl. We all thought he'd go early in the draft a few years ago when he captained the state under 18s from memory but it wasn't to be for reasons I can't fathom. The last couple of seasons he's become a terrific midfielder and would be a walk up start at some of the lower AFL clubs. My only hope is he doesn't get picked up either here or in the east then spend the entire season at state league level. That would be a waste. Same for Mayo except he's a different type of player so not sure where he'd fit into an AFL team given he's a mid sized forward with a dodgy knee. Anyway, if neither happens we love them both at Subi.

Great celebrations. A wonderful History lesson talking to very long time supporters and past players,  recent and long time retired. The wafl is living history.

I have to admit I was wrong about the stadium. The players really appreciated playing there. And souths supporters were in great number. If only subi could match that.

I can't believe how everybody is overlooking the contribution of ex umpire Beau Wardman, who can now as a dual premiership coach,be  rightfully  placed in the pantheon of coaching greats.

RL I think you're misreading how Wardman goes about it. He doesn't coach the team or try to teach them new things, rather he's more like a soccer manager who prepares the players and gives them the knowledge on what to do, how to do it and when. He drills them on game plan and structure more so than coaching. I think he'd be the first to admit he doesn't hold a candle to the players skills and footy smarts wise but he does know how to prepare the team for each new challenge.

Anybody can coach that team.  Who's next?

I don't believe i'm misreading the situation B.C.and what your saying just reinforces my view.I actually saw  Horsley and Kitchin barking orders at your training last year, and it appeared from the outside looking in that they were actually running the show, and it is a side very much in auto pilot, regardless of who coaches, but thats OK i don't have a problem with it,i don't believe i've been guilty of being very vitriolic to your mob, even though your dominance is not particularly healthy for the sustainability of the comp.

You had your chances Roman, you could have had us just about buried at half time. The 2nd qtr we were bad and not real flash in the 1st either tbh. It was the usual story as with most of our games this season, up and down during the one game. As one of our diehards on here said previously, it has got to be one of the most ordinary stumbling bumbling team performances ever to finish in top spot. We were lucky to scrape in as we almost fkd that last game v peel after being 10 goals up at half time and would have finished 3rd if it went the other way. Some of our top guys were clearly sore, lucky we only had to play 2 games to clinch it. I said to my bro I wished sf had their full side in. As it was there was only 4 scoring shots the difference. See you next year Roman. We are the mighty fighting Lions we'll grind them in the ground!!
