Correct , the Afghan Government were totally excluded from the "deal" .

The only obligation in the deal was that The Taliban should not attack and kill US troops before the May 2021 US pull out. The Taliban were free to attack and kill as many Afgans as they liked under the deal. 

The minute the "deal"  was signed trump started pulling US forces out en masse, undermining any hope the locals had, he was clearly in a rush to go because in the 11 Months he was still  in power troop numbers collapsed from 13,000 to 2500 the day Biden took over,  just imagine what he was planning - by May every US solider would of been gone, the Taliban would off rolled into power and EVERY Afghan that ever asssisted the US would of been stranded there, remember this is the US President that banned Muslim travellers to the US, the MAGA movement didnt want Muslim refugees - Build the Wall.

As of Today the US have evacuated 83,000 plus people, its shaping up to be the biggest human airlift in history,  remember Biden managed to extend Trumps pull out from May to August.

 

The most charitable interpretation of what Trump did is it was Trump's complete incompetence.

Go read the agreement, its between the Taliban & the US... you will not see it on CNN. Trump probably new they would never comply which would allow further action, endorsed by the international community. 

Problem is Biden didn't have the spine to enforce it.



 

Here are the first three lines from the document you provided the link to:

"Agreement for Bringing Peace to Afghanistan between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan which is not recognized by the United States as a state and is known as the Taliban and the United States of America"

As a matter of interest what authority did Trump have to negotiate unilaterally on behalf of all the countries that were in Afghanistan?  Does anyone think that France and/or Germany would let Trump do that?

The agreement makes no cease fire or commitment to stop the Taliban attacking Afghan forces, simply that there would be dialogue between Intra Afgans at some time, note the document totally excludes any agreement with the Afghan Gov as they are not party to it,,,,Some deal there, the art of the deal..lol

Before the peace talks really got going, Trump had already started withdrawing thousands of troops, and he fired his defense secretary, Esper, after he wrote a memo disagreeing. (Esper later said that Trump’s withdrawing too many troops too soon contributed to what we see now in Afghanistan.)

I'm enjoying this thread as it's interesting to see the different take on things. What's not good to see is that the Trump legacy lives on. I can't believe with all the loonies living in the US that someone hasn't "neutralised" the Donald by now.

BC Arizona engaged a company, Cyber Ninjas, to audit the presidential election in their state.  The company had absolutely no election audit expertise.  They were supposed to present an interim report in the last week or so.  This has been delayed because three of the people producing the report contracted COVID-19.  The company was allegedly looking for Chinese bamboo fibres on the ballot papers during their audit.
