S42:it is good to see you back
Yep, the ALP has a few policies worth a vote,
metronet
tafe policy
moderate on greenism

There is no point the ALP losing office as happened in SA just to piease the bloody Greens. Whatever the margin of win, the Tories should stick with their leader

Kirkup made the decision to seek the leadership of the Libs prior to the state election in the full knowledge that the Libs were likely to be beaten in a landslide. He chose not to wait until after the election. He also decided to close down coal mining - a sure way NOT to win the seat around Collie.

How many apprentices would have been trained if the Midland Workshops had not been closed?

When was the last time that Labor had control of the Legislative Council?

Perhaps some posters should not take notice of Paul Murray (Sky News after dark) when he claims that Labor will win both houses and a third mythical one as well.

Not sure if this was on here or elsewhere but it has been mentioned that the outcome will see Labour win the same number if not more seats, that there will be a significant change where the Nats will have more seats than the libs,

This will see a real change in WA politics moving forward and open the door for the donkey parties to gain a foothold that will continue the diminishing credibility of our governing process.

As for Kirkup, 42 is spot on he sought the position either through brashness or through some internal process to have a sacrificial lamb that will dumped at the earliest opportunity, the coal issue is a sure position to alienate many but that is countered by his renewables where the millenials are once again pitted against the over 50's.

As for labour they should stop attacking the man (which frankly makes even me tired of the left) and just make policy statements that are realistic and affordable.

I see another dodgy deal is coming to light, the Movie and TV studios down at Fremantle, 100 Million to a Labor donor Adrian Fini.

Baz: I am still here mate, have not really had that much to add to all the good posts. Locally, I will be suprised if the Libs go as bad as some have suggested, it is a largely conservative state-- albeit voting in semi unique circumstances.

Do you remember when the Canadians reduced the Tories to three seats?

Do you think Terry Redman should lead the Nationals again?

While Mia Davies is a good hardworking MP for her Electorate, Terry is the political hardhead needed to put the Major Parties in there place.

Mr AFL, we have only been up here for just under 3 years but the vast majority up here like her and what she's doing, that's across the age range as well, Northam is more leaning to the left with a big indigenous population, but she still does well over there. She's keeping a relatively low profile, had a bit to say around McGoo's hotel stuff up, (he dodged a massive bullet there) but tending to keep some distance from the Libs who are a complete basket case. She's young but has had a couple of terms behind her, the ladies in the regions love her. Terry's an old hand and a good operator but I think the Nats were looking for a fresh more relevant face.

Agree Grump, labour have concentrated on the Lib leaders credentials or lack thereof, hate the negative stuff from both sides, I want to hear policies and programmes, the state is flush with money thanks to the mining golden egg and should be looking at new and innovative projects especially around renewables. Kirkup is saying more about that than McGoo so may garner votes from urban greenies and Millenials, but not enough to make a dent.

Sounds like you've got a soft spot for Mia SS, or maybe it's a hard one? Did you pass the hat around at the local for the locals to pick up the tab for Mia's $400 fine for live streaming a video call while on one of her regular jaunts from York to Perth and back? Fair to say if Zack pulls off a miracle she won't be taking over Michelle Roberts portfolio. Lol
