Sneakers might be just starting to get ahead of himself and dwell on opinion polls too much imo. Why didn't security guards start to get tested every day earlier than last Friday based on outbreaks in Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane a few months ago? Surely McGowan and Cook could have learnt from lessons in other states where security guards were the source of community transmission.

As much as I am prone to lean left, taking into account the last 12 months still makes me more of a supporter of sneakers than a detracter.

Without reiterating my opinion of the opposition he really needs to stop and have a bit of intra look at where we as a state. what do we need to move forward and where does that come from.

Yes needs to take lessons learnt from other jurisdictions and if those lessons are not coming from Cookie or the Health Dept get someone who look and provide advice that fits the situation now, not yesterday!

The biggest issue for him in the election is complacency and a plan for the future!
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

Thats the way Im seeing it BC, this could have potential to be a massive fark up, the WA AMA have been warning him for weeks the Quaratine Set Up was not good enough, its sounds like they have ignored the entire thing and coasted.

Sneakers just did a presser and said zero new cases - if this turns out to be a fizzer a heap of people have lost a big wack of money.

What you need to realise is these hotels being used as a quarantine centre would be on a lovely govt contract. And something they would not give up.

One only has to look back at the hotel quarantine scam that happened in victoria. There are still far too many questions need answering about that!

I always felt using police, army reservists or the army itself would be far better. And people do not need to be quarantined in densely populated areas.
But hey! Some are making a nice profit from it all, so it must be alright!

I think people are jumping off the McG bandwagon too quickly. See how this lot pans out.
He looked pretty peeved by the end of his update on TV.

AMA saying today they have told them AC systems in tourist hotels are totally wrong for quarantine facilities for an airborne disease, as they are built to save energy and cost and recycle same air and germs and do not have enough ventilation as required.

..Exactly.
Nor would the filtration capabilities of the a/c units be up to scratch neither!
Is one of the reasons of my disliking of most air-conditioning.
Although I would concur walking into a cool environment is quite handy on a stinking hot day.
Lets hope officialdom start listening to what the AMA is advising.

this one is the individual
got to be honest you'd think a quarantine guard would be tightly limiting visits and have a routine just in the event of an outbreak
lets hope he's fessed up completely given the sheer numbers of his visit points already
no-one else made the decisions it really was him
The Govt's response was swift given the large number of contact points this one has racked up don't think there was any alternative considering the wide area in question

The way I see it is the economics of this whole set up is a disaster.

McGowan has shut down 2 Million people, shops, businesses, schools, tourism, courts you name it, you are talking of literally Millions lost over 5 days.

Compare that to getting the Quarantine and Security right from the start which would of avoided this.

Employing some drop kick amateur immigrant at $23 a hour, and have no control over their second jobs or movements, to save a buck is a disgrace.

testing once a week rather than daily, it goes on and on.

Then he drives 20 or 30 places in 48 hrs, ,more than most go in a month.

Mcgowans stuffed this up no doubt at all.

WAG, apparently it wasn't the AC as the systems return air does not discharge "used" air internally, it all vents externally, so any infected air went externally, just bad luck/management in this case. Next few days of testing will tell if it's 5 days or much longer.
